(More customer reviews)I was looking for an instructional striptease video - one that wasn't an aerobic workout. I wanted to put on a show of my own - not get into shape. "The Art of Exotic Dance -- Striptease Series" with Fawnia Mondey seemed right on target.
Since I had accompanied my husband/boyfriend to several strip clubs over the years, I had a basic idea of what I wanted to accomplish. (Thank goodness women are now welcome.) I wanted to learn some moves - and maybe create a short routine - that I hoped to use for `special occasions' in my own home!
As background, this video series is hosted by Fawnia Mondey (who goes by just "Fawnia") -- who lists as her credentials a dozen nude dance titles (such as Miss Canada's Rookie of the Year, or the North American Exotic Dance Champion). She is also cute as a button - and just as in shape - as she appears on the video's cover. (Darn her!)
This episode also had a few other instructors. One, `Athena,' also a former Penthouse dance contest champion, looks so much like Fawnia (just a bit thinner, younger and brunette) that she could probably pass for Fawnia's younger sister.
The first demonstration, executed mostly topless, shows how to give a "no touch" lap dance performance, and how to use the "tease" to heighten the excitement, with views both front and back.

The second lesson (also topless) gets a little hotter by adding in contact (with your "customer"). The segment starts with the dancer -- sitting first on the guy's lap - and then proceeding to brush her chest against his cheeks. Many of the moves focus on rubbing yourself against him (by sitting in his lap, facing him or away) or by assuming various postures which bring portions of your body (breasts or butt, usually) closer to his face.
Emotionally, the goal is to make the man feel welcome and special - by demonstrating how much you enjoy performing for him. Expressing one's personality, according to Fawnia -- is also very important, and she gives numerous suggestions on how to accomplish this.
Some of the lap dance lessons are actually filmed in a (closed) strip club, with the guy sitting in a chair as though he had just paid for his "dance." One of the more exciting moves demonstrated -- was something called the "spider" where the dancer horizontally scissors the guy's face with her legs --and moves the lowest portion of her body teasingly in front of him. Of course, bringing your own lips in close - will also make his blood run just as quickly to his head!
In one of the more instructional portions of the video, Fawnia herself demonstrates various ways to remove a normal rear-clasp bra when viewed from the front or the back. She then does the same with a front-clasp bra -- sometimes using her arms or hands to shield her breasts afterwards -- as a means of lengthening the reveal.
She even shows how to remove your bikini (bottom) while standing or sitting (the latter done with the toes pointed), and also while lying on the floor (with the instructor achieving total nudity after each demonstration).
The video finishes by demonstrating how to translate these same moves into an "at home" performance, one with Athena (who begins by removing her skirt), and several with Fawnia (who starts off one segment wearing - and then removing - her silk babydoll nighty).
Ladies, if you've ever enjoyed a lap dance yourself -- you know just how utterly exciting and seductive this personal show can be!
I should also point out -- of the three videos (Pole Work, Floor Work, and Lap Dancing), this lap dance episode is the only one in the series -- that offers any in depth instruction on the actual stripping off of one's garments. It is also the only one that features any toplessness or nudity - so if your hubby wants to watch - this is the episode he'll find to be the most entertaining. (The other two videos are strictly dance instruction - with very little undressing.)
As my only nit, some of the earliest dance segments on the video were overly dark or yellow (in coloration). Obviously, to capture the actual feel of the performances - these were filmed using only the existing light of the setting. Unfortunately, no adjustments were made in the film type or in the white balance (of the video recorder) to compensate.
The later segments of the video, filmed with more normal everyday lighting, were much more enjoyable.
To conclude, if you're planning to buy any disc in the series - always buy this episode (lap dancing) first -- for its actual instruction on how to strip -- and for the numerous finishing moves it offers to help get your guy `over-the-top!'Enjoy.

Strip To It: Core Moves and Fantasies Sexy Striptease (exotic dancing) (2008) Review

(More customer reviews)Angi Carlston does a great job of clearly describing and demonstrating all the core striptease moves you'll ever need to put together a sexy dance routine. She then shows some transitional moves, combination moves, a few advanced moves, and a whole set of "specialty" moves that go along with the unique and fun dress-up fantasy "Performance Videos". Angi and her two students each pick one of the fantasy themes and do their own demonstration dance as well.
Other than a very short intro and tips section (which are separate selections from the menu), there are no interviews or other "filler" material. No fancy video editing tricks or slick graphic effects to distract from the instructional content either. It's a very straight forward and down to business presentation, with multiple camera angles, and very good sound quality (shot at a professional sound studio). This one is much more organized and more "produced" than the previous Strip To It - Bump n' Grind DVD, which is more informal and done in a typical home environment.
The "Performance Videos" are a very cool idea and a lot of fun! They are NOT videos of women doing striptease routines, as you might tend to believe from the description. Rather, the Performance Videos are videos designed for you to use while performing your own routine. There are ten different dress-up fantasy soundtrack themes, with a Performance Video for each. These themes are: School Girl, Naughty Nurse, Secret Agent, Ninja Seductress, Cowgirl, Firefighter, Cheerleader, Racing, East Meets West, and Cop / Bad Boy. The soundtrack for each theme is presented in both 5.1 Dolby Digital Surround Sound, as well as regular Stereo. The video track for each theme has simple graphic patterns that are synchronized to the music and are meant to be used as sexy back lighting for your dance. The idea is to try to recreate a club experience at home with the surround sound music and sexy colored lighting. If you don't like the soundtrack music provided, you can also turn off the audio and play your own favorite music, and there are several "video only" backgrounds as well, including a couple of stroboscopic type videos, as well as multiple background "slides" that can be changed in real time with your remote. You can give your man the remote and let him control the video lighting effects in real time while you dance! It's a lot of fun!
Finally, if you don't have a nice home theater area to play the Performance Videos on a DVD player and dance at the same time, there are full MP3 versions of all the songs on the DVD-ROM section that you can use to burn onto a CD or copy onto your portable music device, so you can use the music anywhere you want to dance. The DVD-ROM section also has a section of helpful hints and instructions on how to use the Performance Videos, as well as some behind the scenes photos, and credits.
Great value for the money. Just the instructional content alone is worth the price of the DVD, but the fun Performance Videos and soundtrack, and the free MP3 files, definitely make it a great total value.
As always, don't base your purchasing decisions on reviews. Visit the company web site for previews of the videos and music so that you know what you are getting ahead of time.

Exotic Dance: The Irresistible Art (2007) Review

(More customer reviews)I bought both Lady M's dvds. I didn't find one harder than the other. The second one is contains more moves, but i liked the ending Demo in the first one better.
The instructor is respectful, careful, slow, patient with herself, and perfect at teaching shy people to be more bold with eye. She's a woman's woman, you admire her, you like her, you listen to her, she's non-threatening while being a sex-bomb all at once. In short, she's pretty much a delight, and really the perfect teacher for exotic dance.

She makes you want to buy a giant feather fan and get some pasties and stockings with bows on them, mix a cosmopolitan and just slowwwwwwwwwww down, baby, and pretend you are about to use your feminine moves search-out, seduce, then throughly destroy James Bond all without compromising your self-respect in the least.
My only complain is the moves were repeated slowly way too many times, and I don't get why they repeat something slowly twice or more, since that's what chapters on dvd's are designed for. That frustates and annoys me. I enjoyed all the costume changes tho! Loved that!
The "full choreography" routine at the end was a dissapointment in that it's full of talking, and stopping, and advice, where as that all should have been done the step-by-step and choreography parts of each routine. The final, full dance should be silent so you can concentrate on preforming.
But none of these complaints take away from the care or attention of the instructor or the sexy unhurried, unrushed atmosphere.
If you're a hardcore athelete or a pole dancer, this will be way too slow and easy unless you are looking *to* slow down.
I'm glad I own it. As a final visual reference, think of a britney spears video melting *very* slowly......

The Exotic Dance Workout (2007) Review

(More customer reviews)I'm giving this DVD a 4 because it says it's a workout & I really didn't "feel the burn".Its divided into thirds (standing, floorwork, and chair), with a bonus performance at the end. No warm up or cool down, but I honestly didn't need either one. I worked through all three back to back and didn't get the least bit sweaty.
I did feel sexy, relaxed, and generally happy with my body. Its zero impact (unless you fall off your shoes) and the movements are surprisingly elegant.
My complaints are that Lady M narrates as though she is leading a class, not a video (you have to reverse left and right to mirror her) and that sometimes the positions you should be in make it difficult to watch her. Neither of these are a deal breaker, though.

I Know Who Killed Me (2007) Review

(More customer reviews)Brainy student Aubrey Fleming (Lindsay Lohan) disappears one night after a football game. She's found days later, barely alive and horribly mutilated. She doesn't recognize her parents or her name - she insists she's a stripper named Dakota. She goes home with Aubrey's parents to recuperate but is oddly uncooperative with the police investigation, claiming she never saw her kidnapper. She starts having strange dreams, violent flashes of an attack she doesn't remember.
This film has all the earmarks of a low-budget shockfest: pointless nudity, slashing violence, and dialogue that is so corny it's laughable. The script is so convoluted and wacky that when I wasn't covering my eyes from the gore, I was rolling them at the dumb things the characters did and said (the crew from Mystery Science Theatre 3000 would have had a field day with this flick).
I'm sure none of the actors will want to put this film on their resumes. Lohan doesn't put much effort into her acting but does wear an excessive amount of eye make-up and Julia Ormond (Legends of the Fall) is wasted as her long-suffering mother. The worst part of it is that the villain's motive is never explained (don't blink or you'll miss the perp altogether). "I Know..." has sickeningly graphic torture, the dullest pole-dance ever filmed, and a ludicrous plot. For strong stomachs only.

Playboy TV - America's Hottest Strip Clubs (2001) Review

(More customer reviews)Our male announcer says that we're going to see "some of America's sexiest, most uninhibited women". He doesn't say we're going to be having uninhibited cameramen or uninhibited editing, but more on that later.
We get some women with implants, and some natural, but I hardly saw any tatoos.
We start out with good music, good camerawork, and Heather at the Foxy Lady Club in Boston. She has on a black cowboy hat, a black vest with a silver star, chaps, and is packing a couple six-guns that glow at the tip when she pulls the trigger, but not to worry, she soon takes everything off (except for her black cowboy boots-- I always hate long boots on strippers). She's pretty sexy. She has long black hair, and I really love the way she flops her long hair around. It is believed that she has implants, but her surgeon did a good job on her, and a person could be forgiven if they mistake her for being natural.
I'll touch mostly on the women & clubs that I liked, or that stuck out in my mind for one reason or another. One of the next clubs is Deja Vu in North Hollywood, a club I have visited a few times. We get three girls on stage at once, but they seem clueless about what to do with each other. But, at least we get good music.
After a while we come to Heven at Stars Cabaret in Portland, with good music, and good camerawork. She seems that she has implants, but this segment at Stars Cabaret is fun to watch in large part due to the crowd around the stage.
In Portland we get Destiny, with fake tits, on the main stage, and Jena Zane in the VIP lounge. See, the camera skips back & fourth between them. Jena Zane is really pretty and seems natural, but she has her nipples pierced. It always gives me the willies when I see a female with her nipples pierced. Destiny and Star get to dance to fairly good music.
Eventually we move on to Deja Vu in Las Vegas, which is probably the darkest club on the whole DVD. See, not much light. Becky Sunshine lives up to her name in that she does the tan-white-parts thing. The tan-white-parts thing is when a female wears a bikini and goes out and gets sunburned like crazy and tanned, and then the rest of us are supposed to think it's so sexy to see the white parts of her where her bikini top and bottoms used to be.
Then we have Samantha on the main stage and Honey in the VIP lounge. The camera skips back & forth between them. They have to make do with awful music; and, actually, we hardly get to see Honey, i.e., the camera doesn't spend much time on her...and I wanted to see more of Honey.
Next up on our tour is Mons Venus in Tampa "if you're looking for the very best in full contact lap dancing"; and this is where I almost had a heart attack, because of what the customers get to do with their hands and-- in the case of one guy, at least-- their mouths during lap dances. There was a good selection of pretty females, some natural, perhaps some with implants; and, oh yes, some with the tan-white-parts thing. But I perhaps saw few, if any, tatoos.
We get to the Foxy Lady Club in Providence, which is a pretty dark club, with porn princess Ava Vincent and a "lucky local" Skyla on stage making out with each other, but they could be doing a little better job of making out with each other. Then at the Foxy Lady, Paris is on the main stage and April is in the VIP room, with the camera alternating back and forth between them. April is someone I could get a crush on or could fall in love with, but we hardly see April (because the camera doesn't spend much time on her). While we can't see April a whole lot, the cameraman does a good job on Paris.
We get more light on the subject(s)-- for a while-- at Deja Vu in Minneapolis, where Baby is on the main stage and Nahomi is in the VIP Room, and the camera alternates between them. Baby is a real babe with a nice natural figure with no tatoos.
In the next segment at Deja Vu in Minneapolis we get six girls at once on stage. These girls are uninhibited, with one girl leaning back on the stripper pole and having her hands tied up above her head to the stripper pole, while other girls apply their hands and mouths to her, and then another girl gets tied up (with one hand tied to one pole and another hand tied to another pole), and other girls are making out with each other, too. EXCEPT the camera work and editing let us down by being inhibited. Too much of the girl on girl action is shown from an angle where we can't see very well what's going on. Also, it is very dark, and the music is crummy.
At Le Girls in Phoenix, "our first desert fox is not only stacked, she's all natural", and this would be Chazelle, my favorite girl on the whole DVD, but we hardly get to see her. The camera work on her isn't as good as I would've liked, and the few times when we do get to see her, it is often a back view. Also, Le Girls needs to screw in a few more light bulbs in order to have more light, and they need to turn the smoke machine off every now and then.
After Chazelle's dance is finished, three girls come out on stage; but, yes, it's still too dark. These three girls spend too much time & energy putting baby oil over each other, when they should be spending more of their time & energy applying their mouths and hands to each other.
Last up on our odyssey is Hawaii, where there is awful music, and it is way too dark again. (A number of clubs in this DVD seem interested in competing for the title of Darkest Strip Club.) Kimmy is on the main stage and Jenny Ann is in the Vip Lounge, with the camera alternating between them. Kimmy is cute with a nice natural figure and no tatoos, and Jenny Ann might be natural, too; but Jenny Ann goes for the tan-white-parts thing. And then at the very last there in Hawaii (and at the very last of our DVD) we have Krista on the main stage and Ariel doing a so-called shower dance. It may be cutesy for Krista to be doing a shower dance, but the makers of the DVD forgot that we need to SEE her, and it's way too dark or there are bad camera angles or whatever, and we scarcely see Krista.
It's a pretty good DVD, and I could recommend it. Parts of it realistically show strip clubs, but there perhaps is more to life and entertainment than being realistic, and lot of these clubs need to have more light on the subject.
