Playboy: Celebrity Centerfolds (2006) Review

Playboy: Celebrity Centerfolds (2006)

If anyone is reading my recent reviews they may note that I am concentrating on the girlie DVDs. I watch and love other types of movies especialy horror movies and enjoy them immensely. However I don't tend to review the DVDs I enjoy because other persons have usually done so and I tend to agree with the reviews. What disappoints me are that these types of DVDs have little or no reviews. Again I don't usually post a review of the ones I enjoy. It bugs me that the real lousy ones like this one don't have a review to warn you off from purchasing the damned thing. So arthritis aside I thought I would post a review to WARN YOU ALL!!!!
The blurb says that this is a 2 hour documentary. In fact it is only 88 minutes long and it seems all the decent nudity has been cut out. You know what you get with Playboy, a load of egos gushing over each other saying how wonderful they and Hugh are and a load of mild soft focus nudity.
However, I didn't expect this to be as bad as it was. I though I could cope with it because of the wonderful fast forward button BUT I found that I hardly paused and the end was quickly in sight!
The majority of the nudity is what has already been flogged to death on other Playboy vids, ie Pamela Anderson, Jenny McCarthy, Shannon Tweed etc.
The DVD is devided into segments, music, TV etc but it justs degenerates from the ridiculous to garbage {I won't credit it with sublimity}.
The reason I risked this is because I was hoping it would show Debbie Gibson, Tiffany etc. It does feature Debbie(k/a Deborah to show maturity) but (and you note that there are a lot of buts here)it doesn't feature her in a live moving nude behind the scenes shoot just simply scans over her photo shoots so you hardly see her whole body in one frame (which is a big disapointment to someone like me who loves the austestic beauty of the female form especially one you know in real life or in the media.
Now bearing in mind that I was constantly fast forwarding this disc I may have missed a brief second of nudity but under the music segment there are no other famous singers only girls who have been in music videos!!!
I thought that the TV segment was ridiculous, (it spends precious time showing clips from the shows they featured in BUT no Playboy nudity unless, as I mentioned previously, we were given a namosecond show and I missed it) but the sport/olympian segment was farcical. It only really featured Katrina Witt BUT when it showed the German Playboy edition? shoot all her bikini bits were censored with red paint!!!!!! Could someone at Image or Playboy tell me what the hell that was all about!
There is a running feature throughout the DVd with Adrienne Curry? from Real House? a reality show. Certainly she was a nice feisty filly broken in the end by a poor shoot BUT her feature was only for the cover so again no nudity and disappointingly so as she had a nice tidy body (hope people understand my English phrases)
So yet again another disappointed Playboy DVD with hardly any of the 50 years of celebrities on view.
The only good thing about Playboy is that because it is not explicit and tends to favour showing the whole female form (which is my bag) there are a hell of a lot females who are willing to pose for Playboy because they know the shots won't be gratuitous and wouldn't pose otherwise, so I'm grateful to Playboy for that BUT surely a Celebrity DVD should have feature more of them nude rather than just simply mention them?
Well despite seeing gynaecological pics of Britney this week, it is her whole body I want to see, so I hope Playboy are still interesed in doing a shoot with her!

Comedy Central Roast of Pamela Anderson Uncensored (2005) Review

Comedy Central Roast of Pamela Anderson Uncensored (2005)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
The latest roasts on comedy central have been funny, but not memorable enough for a second viewing. Well Comedy Central has found a way to change that with the roast of Pamela Anderson. Oh Pamela you gorgeous Baywatch babe, she takes hits like I've never seen before on live television. And now with the release of this dvd you get to see the whole thing uncensored! Oh comedy central, you shouldn't have.
If you think you've seen a roast before .. you havent seen anything yet. The Roast of Pamela Anderson had me rolling in the aisles the first time I saw it on Comedy Central a couple months ago. And as many times as they re-ran it, I tell you I couldnt get enough. Let me just mention some of the goodies found here: First and foremost Pamela, in a classy see through getup, handles herself oddly enough with class, dignity, and a smile. She is one heck of a lady. But its the guests that are the highlight. Lets first start with Courtney Love, a personal hero of mine! Courtney was detained shortly after this performance and sent into rehab, so its quite a laugh to hear her boast here of how she has been clean and sober for a year! Clean and sober she is not, funny as hell she is. She is the scene stealer here, and the other comedians take more joy out of poking fun at her than even Pamela at some points. All of which are hillarious, and watching Courtney react and flail and fall about, is certainly something that needs to be re-watched over and over again. We get Bea Arthur reading excerpts from Pamela's book. Can you say brilliant? Who woulda known Bea Arthur would come out of hiding to roast our lady of the hour? She delivers the double-whammy when she reads aloud one of the "sexiest" scenesof the book. We have the always hillarious Sarah Silverman doing what she does best. She has had one hell of a year what with her movie "Jesus is Magic" her cameo in "Rent" her part in "The Aristocrats" and showing up at many roasts. Here she does herself proud poking fun at Pam, Courtney, and her boyfriend Jimmy Kimmel to name a few. Andy Dick takes a feel of Pammy's assets, and confuses an audience again with his sexuality. Tommy Lee is on hand. Which is great because he and Pam are like the couple never meant to be together, but somehow you just root for them. Although they aren't together as of the taping, it is cute to watch them take jabs at each other. The self proclaimed "Queen of Mean" Lisa Lampanelli delivers perhaps the funniest bits near the end before Pam herself gets her revenge.
Pam sat through the hell of a roast all for charity, PETA of course, which she is known to support avidly. (even protesting at KFC's .. she is quite devoted, and I think she should be commended for it). So with the cast of Jimmy Kimmel, Tommy Lee, Adam Carolla, Eddie Griffin, Sarah Silverman, Jeffrey Ross, Nick Dipaolo, Andy Dick, Greg Giraldo, Bea Arthur, Elon Gold, Lisa Lampanelli, Lady Bunny, Courtney Love, even Anna Nicole Smith (in the audience) and of course Pamela herself, it is a star studded hillarious event.
And now you can own it and rewatch it over and over. Who wouldnt want to see Courtney Love take a pratfall right at the moment when Pam gets up to deliver her speech? And the dvd features a ton of bonus features which are equally as exciting. Theres footage from the rehearsal, theres outtakes from the show, theres stuff from the red carpet (hillarious), and more. So overall Im giving this 4 stars. It is the funniest thing you will find on dvd this month. So if youre in need of a laugh, or a fan of any of the comedians or musicians on the dvd, this is a must have. Check it out, you wont regret it.

Stripperella - Season One - Uncensored (2003) Review

Stripperella - Season One - Uncensored (2003)

I haven't had any problems at all with my two discs. They play just fine and look fine.
My only beef would be the change in the animation & writting after episode 4. It became way to 'cutesy' and less crass. No more exposed breasts get shown, no more truely funny innuendos. I felt like I was watching a saturday morning fluffy cartoon.
Now I understand why it got cancelled. Someone screwed with it and screwed it up.
It is worth buying for the orginial first 4 episodes tho.

STRIPPERELLA SEASON ONE - UNCENSORED features Pamela Anderson as the voice of Erotica Jones, a stripper-turned-superhero who fends off evil villains such as Dr. Cesarean, a plastic surgeon who gives unsuspecting women explosive breast implants; Cheapo, a frugal villain who makes his henchmen share a gun and Pushy Galore, a former genetic physicist who breeds animals with designer logos on their skin. With the ability to land safely after jumping from tall buildings, courtesy of her enhanced hair, and her patented move called "Scissor-ella" in which she crushes the villains with her thighs, along with the lie detector implanted in her generously-sized chest, Stripperella proves to be one tough superhero unwilling to give up.

I enjoyed Baywatch as a child, only the first two seasons, so was really excited to enjoy the best season's (I think, lol) the only downfall I had with this, was it was missing the last esp of Shawnie & Eddie...when they got married. I know that happened the first esp of season three...but the extra esp they added on this DVD set, was the 2nd esp of season three...so that was the only disappoint I had.

Stacked - The Complete Series (2005) Review

Surprisingly, this was a very funny show. Its episodes were well-written and Pamela was quite comedic. Not suprisingly, the network cancelled the show. It seems that if a good show doesn't rate in the Top Ten during its first airing, it's immediately dropped off the list. Very, very sad for TV shows... Note to networks: this is why I don't watch much television.

You can't judge a bookstore by its covergirl, especially when she happens to be Pamela Anderson! Anderson stars as drop-dead sexy Skyler Dayton, a reformed party girl in need of a lifestyle makeover, who takes a job at a family-run bookstore called "Stacked Books." Determined to prove she has ample talent beyond her ample talents, Skyler dazzles the employees and customers with her sweet-natured charm and refreshing honesty. This hip, hilarious comedy also features guest appearances by super-hotties Carmen Electra and Jenny McCarthy and includes 5 unaired episodes that can finally be revealed. You'll bust out laughing!

Baywatch: Season 1 (2007) Review

Baywatch: Season 1 (2007)

Unlike the earlier mis-titled "Season 1" DVD that was released in the US a couple of years ago, this Australian import actually contains all the episodes from the real first season of Baywatch when it was an NBC network series. There's no Pamela Anderson or Alexandra Paul. Instead we have former Miss USA Shawn Weatherly, the beautiful Holly Gagnier, and the show's original Playboy playmate, Erica Eleniak. Long-time viewers who miss the flamboyant characters of the later syndicated seasons will have to console themselves with David Hasselhoff's extremely gay hairdo, which was in full bloom even at this early stage. The six-disk set offers absolutely no extras (the episode titles appear in an unnumbered list on the case, and the only way to tell which disk each one is on is to count them off in groups of four), but the hard-case package is good. The quality of the 4x3 video is adequate, but this collection will be a welcome addition to anyone who was interested in the first season of the show.
