This is a great family movie with excellent actors and a good, clean storyline. Breath taking scenery as well - I recommend it highly for both children and adults.

This movie surprized me being it was on a DVD by Good Times...usually they are not that clear and sometimes hard to understand but this is a shining example of how well they can do if they want...this DVD was super clear and the audio was super too. The only thing I wish is that for us harder of hearing folks that they would put the CC on the disc too.The movie it self is very good and I enjoyed the show alot. The acting was good and the story line was also very interesting as well. The animal actors did such a great job and as I said before the clarity of the DVD makes the scenery come alive in Alaska. I am glad I picked this one up and if you have kids there is also some good messages on convervation in it. I would buy it again now if I knew what I know now. At this price you owe it to yourself to pick up this disc, why not get extra copies for gifts too...LOL I hope "Gentle Ben" which I also purchased is just as good..well done Good Times...

10.5: Apocalypse (2006) Review

10.5: Apocalypse (2006)

This sequel to 10.5 is a disaster freak's dream come true. We get destruction of Hoover Dam; Las Vegas sinks into the sand; Mount Rushmore crumbles, and Houston is dessimated.
While probably not geologically accurate, I found the movie pretty much enjoyable except for the too lengthy rescue sequence in Las Vegas, but the first half and the final third are pretty involving. There are no super star performances, but you get adequate ones from Kim Delaney, Frank Langella, Dean Cain, Oliver Hudson, Beau Bridges and Carlos Bernard. The CGI effects are pretty decent and although some of it is reminiscent of THE POSEIDON ADVENTURE, there have been a lot more disastrous disaster films, so if you're a genre fan, you shouldn't be too disappointed.

The Runaway (2000) Review

I loved this film; I kind of wish it would get the Oscars; Unfortunately, it was originally aired on TV: You have these two boys born on the same day; One is black and the other is white; They hook up and become the best of friends; Yet, this is 1940s Georgia; And the black boy's sister gets pregnant presumably by her white employer, then someone turns up dead and things get right ugly. Dean Cain plays the sheriff, who just coming back from WW2, wants to see the right thing done, yet, the prejudices of the time seem to want to stay the same although clearly, times were a-changing; Maya Angelou has a pivotal role as a seer; You can't help but love watching her especially when she hollers "Justice Is Served" in the courtroom. Debbie Morgan, a great yet underrated actress has the role of the black boy's mother; And a performance she gives indeed. A good Hallmark movie indeed;

The Best of Ripley's Believe It or Not (2003) Review

The best of Ripley's Believe It Or Not or so the label says.
Well,all I can say is if a tattooed man,followed by another tattooed man,followed by people that like to jump fences etc is the best,then I'm glad that I didn't watch most of this show's episodes. There is one shocking scene of a man that lost most of his face,but nothing remarkable otherwise.
I remember the original show which was much better than this newer on. That original version had far more substance where as this show is more of the sideshow tent variety. Not worth the money.
