The Cheetah Girls (2003) Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)I saw this movie a while back on the Disney Channel. After hearing some mixed reviews about it, some being good; some being bad, I decided to give it a try because it was about an all-girl band named "The Cheetah Girls" and I basically love anything about music.
When I watched it, I was amazed.
This movie contains friendship as well as lots and lots of awesome, cool songs!
I *HIGHLY* recommend this for people who loves movies about friendship and music. It's one of the best Disney movies I've ever seen.

Camp Rock: Extended Rock Star Edition (2008) Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)After the huge Success of the High School Musical series, it appeared that musicals were "hip" again with the tween audience. With that idea in mind, Disney launched a new musical movie series in the summer of 2008 called "Camp Rock", starring Demi Lovato, The Jonas Brothers, Alyson Stoner, and Meaghan Jette Martin.
Did Camp Rock work? Absolutely! Although a bit more mean spirited and adult themed than the High School Musical series, Disney still pulled off a charming movie that while entertains, it also teaches valuables lessons to its target audience. The Disney Company has found another success with a new cast of actors and actresses. Demi Lovato is a great asset to Disney's already amazing cast of tween stars, and supporting cast members. Alyson Stoner and Meaghan Jette Martin held their own which proves they could carry any upcoming Disney Channel movies on their own.
The Camp Rock extended edition DVD contains the full screen version (1.33:1) of the film (for the wide screen version pick up Camp Rock Blu-ray edition) and a plethora of extra features including a behind the scenes look at the filming of the movie, along with music videos, sing a longs, and "Camp Rock Karaoke"
This film is a great addition to the latest lineup of classic Disney Channel movies, and if you still don't have your fill of Camp Rock after your finished watching the DVD, don't worry -- a sequel is already in the works.

Princess Protection Program (2009) Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)What a great movie this was! Normally from a Disney Channel movie, you wouldn't expect it to be a blockbuster movie, but this movie is one of the best ones that Disney has had in a long time! Although it doesn't quite beat the Hannah Montana phoenominon, Selena Gomez and Demi Lovato are very talented young ladies. It even adds on that these two girls are best friends in real life because they have a lot of chemistry together while acting in this movie. It's a great movie to watch with your girlfriends and fun for the whole family! There's comedy, romance, and drama. This movie has almost everything you could ask for and it teaches the moral lesson that you should always be true to yourself, it's okay to let your inner beauty show, don't judge too quicky, and most of all, best friends will always be there for each other and you should never let boys come between that. This was a very cute movie and I would give it five stars right off the bat!

Cory in the House (All Star Edition) (2006) Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)This Disney Channel original TV show (a spin-off from "That's So Raven") is about Cory Baxter (Kyle Massey), the son of White House Chef (Rondell Sheridan). Cory's best buddy is Newt Livingston (Jason Dolley), the Chief Justice's son, and Meena Paroom (Maiara Walsh), the daughter to the Bahavian Ambassador. The 3 teen leads in the cast have great chemistry and work well; my one gripe is that Maiara Walsh just can't seem to get a grasp on her accent; it comes and goes during dialogue, but is most definitely gone whenever she is singing. Can Disney hire a dialect coach for this girl? Minor point, as they all seem to be having lots of fun in this family show that is safe for all to watch together. The episodes on this disc are: "The Presidential Seal," "Through the Roof," "Lip Service," "Peace Love and Misunderstanding" which was unaired. "Peace Love" is probably one of the best ones, as it gives a good lesson in being tolerant of other's beliefs and not making snap judgments based on stereotypes. Saruza Zamuti (Natalie Amenula) is a new love interest of Cory's who turns out to be from a country at odds with Meena's country. Cory finds himself stuck in the middle of the two girls. Kudos to Natalie for doing much better with her accent!
The extra featurette, "Breakin' Down Cory In The House" is really very good (about 12 minutes); it is a behind-the-scenes look at what goes into making "Cory in the House," including writing the script, doing the sets, wardrobe, camera angles, editing, stunts, what the cast does when they "hang out," and a taste of what being in the audience during filming is like. Very informative for youngsters not familiar with what goes into putting a sitcom together (hey kids, know what a "table read" is? you will after watching this!). DVD previews of other upcoming Disney movies are also included.
So for children/young teens, you will find this set to be enjoyable.
