17. Punk Rock Princess (Audioboxer; Galaxy Sessions; LTTW; Live at Fillmore Theater; Songs for Silent Movies)This dvd starts off following Andrew, Clutch, Brian, and Josh around. Andrew gets his hair cut; Clutch bowls his best game "while filming the dvd!!"; Josh... I dunno really what he does lol... walks around town a bit; Brian --ah funny guy!-- searches for a music shop to get drum sticks. Man seriously I never knew how funny Brian is;) and Clutch as well!
Then the guys get ready to play at Ventura...
Then comes the concert! Awesome, awesome performance.. They sound as good live if not better in almost every song! And I have to mention that in "Drunk Girl" Andrew accidently starts to sing the wrong verse, and he is so hilarious about it! Man he's so charming... Anyways they start the concert fast-paced, then slow it down with the songs "Wait", "Walking By", and the famous "Konstantine", which I must say are absolutely gorgeous and emotional here. The band speeds it back up at the end with the fun songs "Space", "If U C Jordan", and "Punk Rock Princess."
Definitely a must-have for every SoCo fan out there.. and even if you're hesitant about this band, this concert will surely turn you into the biggest fan!

Taking 5 (2007) Review

Taking 5 (2007)

Okay, so I know there's gonna be someone out there who gives this a bad review saying it's a "don't waste your time" movie... So first off, let me clarify, this is NOT the next Oscar contender. It wasn't meant to be. But, IN the full spirit of the movie, I have to say Taking 5 Rocks! It's freakin Hilarious!
I'm a mom of six kids. One of which was super cranky last night. So in desperation at 1am I put it in (having just rented it for my kiddos to watch) and sat rocking the toddler back to sleep. LOL! She would've been alseep MUCH earlier had I not jarred her awake every 5 minutes or so with serious Laugh Out Loud laughter! Yes, it's very slapstick and silly and completely random at times (okay, a lot of times!) But Holy Cow, was this movie funny!
At first, after I watched it, I would've given it 3-4 stars. But, now the next day, finding myself quoting the dang thing and giggling like a freakin teenager, I have to give it 5 stars. The writer did a very good job with the teen verbology... as a teen YA author myself I have to say serious kudos to her for that. MY fave line Shauna--if you're out there--was, "You're like a new and undiscovered species of dork." --Perfect timing!
The actors were cute, funny and fit their parts to a T. They did a great job casting this movie. And even going on a limb using a real band, The Click Five. The band did good! Absolutely perfect for what they were meant to do--and super cute--my daughter was blushing and squealing and giggling--and well, all the things you're supposed to do when you're imagining living out every girl's fantasy and getting to know your favorite star.
Also, when my older ones watched it today, my curious hubby came in after hearing us laugh near the beginning (Yes, I had to watch it again) he stayed standing, ready to leave at any moment, and then never left the room! Instead, he stayed in the corner laughing and chuckling along with the rest of us.
So if you're up for a great slapstick comedy type laugh. And if you have teen daughters that love super uber cute rockstars who play great music and show loveable sweet personalities, I suggest you buy this movie. They're gonna want to own it. Great gift!

Just when BFFs Gabby (Daniella Monet, Nancy Drew) and Devon (Alona Tal, TV's Veronica Mars) have a chance to get the hottest band to perform a free concert at Highland High, their plan goes up in smoke? literally. Desperate not to be labeled losers for life they resort to plan B: kidnap the band! Now it's limos, laughs and a shot at love with 5 Leo Rise (played by hot pop band, The Click Five). But when the girls discover a secret about the band, things hit a sour note. Will 5 Leo Rise to the occasion and play at their homecoming or will Gabby and Devon be stuck in social Siberia forever?

I absolutely loved it! Peter Weller tell the story of the rise and fall of the Egyptian empire in a fascinating and contemporary way. There is great insight on exactly how all those amazing pyramids were created and the story behind the leaders and commoners who made it happen. There is also the inside story on the creation of the first military fortresses which is absolutely amazing. The Egyptians were the first great empire and made their mark which will live on forever in history.

*no spoilers at all*
This is one of the most misunderstood underrated anime shows I ever seen. No anime has surprised me as this one has. I expected it to be some lame child anime but I was so wrong.
An original adventure mecha anime, with unique mecha designs. You can't compare this show to any other, maybe not even the other Zoid shows. Its one of a kind. Some of the mecha are classic designs from the old early 80s model kits, while theres some new ones.
The creativity of the story & characters impressed me alot. Its got many plot twists and the characters and even better. Some stuff may seem cliche but that doesn't bug me.
Also, the CGI blends in GREAT. That type of animation and cel-shaded type CGI blends so good but I must admit the first 13 or so eps don't look all that great. The CGI improves alot around ep. 15 though.
This show has alot of replay value, you can watch it over and over. Buy the first 2 volumes, at only around $10 for 6 episodes per DVD thats a steal! If you liked the show stick with it cuz it only gets better, the 3rd volume will improve even more. You want something diffrent right? So get this.

Andre Rieu: Live in Vienna (2008) Review

Andre Rieu: Live in Vienna (2008)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
This is a 2007 mid-summer concert which took place in front of imperial Hofburg Palace in the center of Vienna.
DVD (DVD9) is in Widescreen (16:9) format with DD5.1 and DD2.0 sound option. Andre Rieu speaks in German but subtitles are available. Main feature runs for 135mins. There are no extra features.
Playlist selection is wonderful with 25 classical hits. Some of them we know from other DVDs of Rieu, but there are some new pieces we will hear in this DVD. There are waltzes, polkas, arias and musical pieces. According to me highlights are All Strauss Waltzes, Eine kleine Nachtmusik (Mozart Medley), The Sound of Music, and Arias. The Johann Strauss Orchestra is accompanied by Choir and joined by guest stars namely The Platine Tenors, Dogmar Koller, Carmen Monarcha, Carla Maffioletti, Mirusia Louwerse and Suzan Erens. They all have wonderful performances. Also the Ballet of the Vienna State Opera, the Vienna debutantes from the Elmayer Dance School joins the Viennese ambient with their waltzes.
One of the best of Andre Rieu's (according to me the other bests are Homecoming and the Schonbrunn Concerts). Especially if you love the waltzing themes, this one is for you with lots of waltzes in the heart of waltz-capital of Europe, Vienna. You will enjoy a real Viennese Night in your homes.
Tracklist:
1.Wiener Burger
2.Tritsch Tratsch Polka
3.Facher Polonaise
4.Fledermaus Quadrille
5.Komm Zigany
6.Csardas
7.Gold und Silber
8.Eine kleine Nachtmusik (Mozart Medley)
9.Mein Herr Marquis
10.Wolgalied

Twitches - Betwitched Edition (2005) Review

Twitches - Betwitched Edition (2005)
Average Reviews:

An original Disney Movie which is based on a best selling book series with the same name, starring one of the famous twins, Tia and Tamera Mowry as Alex Fielding and Camryn Barnes who was separated at birth. Taken each by their protectors, Karsh and Illeana to their safety to the next dimension, during in the peak of the war between Coventry and the Darkness, after it had taken the life of their father, Aron who had given them his every drop of powers to each of them.
Separated, each of them lead their own life, with lifestyles pretty much contrasted to each other. Camryn got adopted by David and Emily Barnes, pretty much rich folks who could afford anything for their beloved Cammy, as prove she got a car for her 16th birthday! Alex however lived her life in a lowside, living with her best friend since her mother died 2 month prior, looking for work on the side.
Karsh and Illieana stayed by them as they were growing up waiting for the time when they thought the twins are finally ready to take a hold of their destiny and they chose the day when they finally turned 21. Karsh intruded so Alex got to bump onto her long lost sister in a store. The rest of the day became a day of revelations for them. They realized in their whole life they had never parted with their past and their true home. Alex wrote stories of Coventry ever since she was a kid and active during the night and Cam drew sketches of her homeland and characters that turned out to be the Darkness and their mother. Time was running short and they needed to find a way to defeat the Darkness and meet with their long lost mother who was looking for them all of their lives, who remarried to Thantos, brother to their father.
The advert itself for the Disney Channel tempted me to watch it and the wait actually paid off! The beginning was quite baffling at first but I soon caught up with the storyline. The plot is cute in some points and nerve testing in a few but of course there's a bit of that special Disney touch of tear jerking moments. The special effects and sets are amazing and beautiful. I am in love with the Merlin-ish touch they have managed to add in and it fits lovely!
Tia and Tamera Mowry really filled up the gaps for their fans who miss them while they are away from the tv show business and I'm glad they are included in this one. I really enjoy watching this movie and I hope other people would make be willing to add this into their DVD listing as I would.

Baby Einstein - Baby Galileo - Discovering the Sky (2003) Review

Baby Einstein - Baby Galileo - Discovering the Sky (2003)
Average Reviews:

I don't quite understand what is so horrible about Baby Galileo. Reviewers are saying how aweful it was, but are giving no explanation as to why, so I'm going to explain why it worked for me and my child.
I was extremely pleased with the Baby Galileo video. My daughter is three and a half years old and soaks in anything she sees. Although she is on the older end of the suggested ages for these videos, she still is learning from them and enjoying them. This video was a great way for her to learn the general ideas about the sky. The video opens with puppets, which are a trademark in Julie Clark's videos. There are narrations by children, and 15 different pieces of classical music ranging from Claire De Lune to Twinkle Twinkle Little Star. There are several chapters in the video introducing a new concept- those being the sky, the sun, the clouds, the stars, the moon, the planets, the galaxy and space. There are real pictures and video of the sun, moon and others while they are supplemented with toys, graphics and music that go along with the sky/space theme.
I am an early childhood educator, and I see these videos as being some of the most developmentally appropriate videos out there for children to watch. The video expresses many subjects, textures, colors and most of all, beautiful classical music to soothe your child and spark their interest and attention. I'm not quite sure why these videos haven't worked for other parents, but they've been successful in my family and many others that I know. I highly recommend the Baby Einstein collection- at least try them, especially Baby Galileo.

David Blaine - Fearless (2002) Review

David Blaine - Fearless (2002)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
You may have caught some of "street magician" David Blaine's act on his TV specials that had limited runs. Not too worry; "David Blaine: Fearless" gathers them all up, and throws them all onto one DVD, and then some. You can generally find this DVD priced the same as "discount" DVDs, so you won't be paying the normal $20 plus that DVDs command.
Blaine's amazing tricks are super-cool but wouldn't have held their own displayed merely in a Vegas showroom; it's the who and where that makes this DVD special. Blaine often performs his tricks up close and with plenty of audience participation, to an extremely diverse set of people. He bites a quarter in half and spits it back to make it whole in front of some LA street thugs. He performs his famous levitation at the Dallas Cowboys training camp, sending Deion Sanders running, his wits barely intact. He pulls various "pick a card" tricks on a pair of grandmothers sitting on a bench, despite their initial declaration that they're not into magic tricks. A bunch of soccer girls at a rest stop scream with glee when makes a name appear out of ash.
Blaine even ventures into a remote South American jungle, where an tribe that has been mostly isolated from civilization serves as the challenge; the only way he can communicate with them is magic, but will "pick a card" mean anything to them or impress a culture with no concept of quarters, Aces or Spades? Blaine adapts and amazes them by squeezing drinkable amounts of water from random places or making a ball multiply within a closed fist. He does this again with other journeys to foreign areas.
Many of Blaine's tricks are true head-scratchers that will leave even the most cynical viewer amused. I've already described a significant amount of his simpler tricks, so I'll leave the rest for the DVD to show, including an act that is more endurance than magic: fighting hypothermia and mental breakdowns as he remains encased in an ice prison on a busy sidewalk for a couple of days.
He has a different sort of charisma; he's so laid back but you still get the sense that he truly treats magic as an art, not as an attempt to hoodwink you; but at the same time he isn't so overly serious that you can associate with him.
This is a great DVD to have; magic is an all-genre, all-gender thing. You can pop "Fearless" in anytime at any setting, be it a small gathering, a big party, or in your portable DVD player while waiting for your flight at the airport. There's very little filler material, which is a good thing; they've packed in as much material as they can.
A must-buy for anyone.

"As Time Goes By" stars Judi Dench & Geoffrey Palmer as Jean Pargetter and Lionel Hardcastle, who were once lovers in the early 1950s. Lionel went to fight in the Korean war, and the two lost touch. In the very first episode of the series, they meet again and slowly begin to rekindle their romance. The wonderful series that ensues is a pleasure to watch.
This DVD contains all 10 episodes of the 4th season of "As Time Goes By". This is quite an important, funny, and emotional season in the show's history. And, oh, how wonderful it looks on DVD!
Within the 4th season occurs the 25th wedding anniversary of Penny & Stephen (in-laws of Jean), a new "boy"friend for Jean's daughter Judith, Jean's secretary Sandy moving-in to the household, the completion of Lionel's script for a mini-series based on his & Jean's young love affair, and, most importantly, the wedding of Jean & Lionel.
And as for how it looks on DVD: WOW. Now, I have watched British television shows on DVD before, but never has one looked so stunning. The colors are brilliant, the lines are crisp, the picture comes alive. There is one scene in particular, in the episode where Jean & Lionel are on their honeymoon in the hills of Scotland. It looks STUNNING. I'm sorry to gush, but I was just *very* taken aback. By all means, if you are able to, I would recommend getting the 4th season on DVD.
Well, there you have it. If you want a nice, gentle, warm, romantic and funny series with sincere characters and an interesting, hilarious plotline, then by all means start watching "As Time Goes By" today.

Smallville: The Complete Third Season (2003) Review

Smallville: The Complete Third Season (2003)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
With the TV airwaves overstuffed with tired reality shows and crime dramas, shows like Smallville with it's intelligence and fantasy continue to be a refreshing change.
Season three continues this shows really quite remarkable development and quality. Bit by bit, little by little we see Clark developing into the character who will won day be know as Superman.
There are 22 episodes in Season three. i won't summarize all of them due to space but here are some of the highlights:
"Extinction" - Clark discovers someone is hunting people affected by the kryptonite rocks and the killer's next target is Lex. Clark uses his powers to save Lex, but is caught off guard when the killer learns his weakness and shoots him with a kryptonite bullet.
"Perry" - Our first introduction to Perry White, The editor of the Daily Planet in the Comics, a once promising journalist whose career was destroyed by Lionel Luthor, arrives in Smallville in search of alien stories for a tabloid news show. In spite of being constantly inebriated, Perry believes he has witnessed Clark using his extraordinary speed, so he devises a dangerous scheme to expose Clark's superpowers. Meanwhile, Lex learns that Perry has powerful incriminating evidence of Lionel's shady past.
"Relic" - Clark discovers that Jor-El was on Earth forty years ago. Lana's great uncle, who was convicted of murdering his wife forty years ago, shows her a picture of the man he believes really killed her aunt, and she is shocked to discover the drifter looks just like Clark.
"Whisper" Attempting to stop a robbery, Clark is temporarily blinded when he shoots off a burst of heat vision that is accidentally reflected back into his eyes by a piece of kryptonite and soon realizes his body has developed super-hearing to compensate for his lack of sight.
"Hereafter" - Clark discovers that his schoolmate Jordan can foresee the future, but is horrified when Jordan tells him he "sees" Lana dying in a fire in the next few days. When Jordan bumps into Clark, the viewer is treated to a quick image of the classic Superman "S" symbol on a red cape, while the camera flies through space.
"Covenant" - Things come to a head in Smallville when Kara, a beautiful girl with superpowers, who claims to be from Krypton, comes to entice Clark to fulfill his destiny. Overwhelmed, Clark turns to his parents for advice but is shocked when Kara forces Jonathan to finally reveal the deal he made with Jor-El. Also, Clark makes a discovery that ultimately redefines his relationship with Lex, and Clark's relationship with Lana takes a final turn.
One of the best things about watching Smallville is tryting to find all the little hints and inside bits that they place in almost every episode such as the constant use of REd, Blue, and yellow, Superman's costume colors, and the appearance of the trademark "S".
Nice extras include commentary on select episodes, deleted scenes, etc...

Band of Brothers (2001) Review

Band of Brothers (2001)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
That modesty and that sentiment seems to be shared by all the survivors of Easy Company, 506th PRI, and many of them can't hold back the tears as they mumble it. One of the great benefits of this marvelous series was the closeup interviews of the real men portrayed, those wonderful old seamed faces, breaking at last with emotion as they recall their experiences and the love of their comrades and the pain of loss of other friends. It moves me greatly, and I'm glad the Extras in this set has an extended documentary re-tracing the time-frame of the film with these real veterans recalling the action we've seen re-created.
Brought with loving care and fanatic attention to detail by producers Steven Spielberg & Tom Hanks and their carefully chosen band of producers, directors and actors, this is an unsentimental, near-documentary telling of the story of Easy Co. from training to D-Day, Hedge Row fighting, Operation Market Garden, Bastogne, into Germany, liberation of Death Camps, and the capture of Berchesgarden & Hitler's Eagle's Nest.
Throughout it all, the aim has been to tell it straight and get it right. They have done so in remarkable style. The truth HAS enough drama, and the various episodes reveal it. We get to know these men and care about them. We marvel at their endurance and the way they go about getting the job done, professionally, and with matter-of-fact, everyday courage. It is a true tribute to the Citizen Soldiers who won the war.
With 10 episodes and lots of extra goodies, presented within an exceptional package, there is just too much to review here. Some memorable moments: the harrowing jump into the explosive, tracer-lit night skies of Normandy; the assault on the 88's; Winter's killing the young German; the episode dedictated to the Medic; the monstrous artillery barrage on the men in the snowy forest of Bastogne; the shock of the farmer's wife on seeing the closeup hand-to-hand killing of the German by "Bull"; and finally, the incredibly moving scenes of the liberation of the Concentration Camp, and the final days of Easy at the War's end.
These last episodes are all the more powerful because we have followed Easy Co. and these men and have seen the death so random and arbitrary around and among them that a slow emotional tension has been built that we now realize with the intensity of anger/pity/horror at the Camps and the bittersweet joy and subsequent farewell of VE day.
I could cite great moments by each individual actor, and nicely played and effectively understated but powerfully emotional scenes but suffice it to say this is an ensemble piece with superb performances throughout. The quiet power of the different episodes underscores how wonderfully written the entire piece is, and with corresponding excellent direction and production values.
A one-of-a-kind production, having the time to tell the tale with detail and care, and with all involved doing honor to the men who lived it. And finally, there are those men, bringing it all back to the reality of real lives lived. Exceptional stuff.

Drawn from interviews with survivors of Easy Company, as well as soldiers' journals and letters, Band of Brothers chronicles the experiences of these men who knew extraordinary bravery and extraordinary fear. They were an elete rifle company parachuting into France early on D-Day morning, fighting in the Battle of the Bulge and capturing Hitler's Eagle's Nest at Berchtesgaden. I recently caught a viewing of Celtic Woman on my local PBS station. I must say that this performance really took my breathe away. The music was a good mix of celtic and classical/pop. I thought the four singers were quite good. I could not help but take notice of the clarity in their vocal performances. I love classical-crossover artists like Sarah Brightman and Josh Groban but those artists don't restrain their vocals a lot of the time. The women in Celtic Woman shows that you don't need to enunciate every single note to show that she can sing or to emphasize the emotion in the song. Don't get me wrong, I like Sarah and Josh but I often find their voices overwhelming at times. In the case of Celtic Woman, they have shown that they can sing without restorting to vocal acrobatics. The other member of Celtic Woman is a violinist named Máiréad Nesbitt who I found very engaging to watch. Her enthusiasm for performing really showed. The songs in this performance were fantastic. I was completely blown away when I listened to 15 year old Chloe sing "Walking in the Air", a song that my favorite heavy metal band Nightwish has performed on their "Oceanborn" cd. It was quite a contrast from what I was used to hearing. My favorite song that Chloe sang has to be the beautiful ballad "Someday". I was simply moved by the song. My other personal favorite performance was for the song "Jesu Joy of Man's Desiring", my favorite song by Sebastian Bach. I couldn't help but notice that the group did quite a few songs by Enya which were really excellent. I couldn't help but notice how similiar their voices were to Enya's. On a couple of occasions I closed my eyes, I thought I was listening to Enya herself. The one thing about this performance that I found rather unintentionally funny is the audience members. A few of them looked about as 'enthusiastic' to be there as I am at the dentist office. My most deeply personal favorite moment of the performance was the women's interpretation of "You Raise Me Up". Their version by far is the best I have heard. I was speechless when I heard them sing this lovely song. Otherwise this was a really great performance. Too bad when I saw it on tv, I had to put up with the annoying interrruptions because it is pledge season at PBS. After seeing this wonderful performance, I so want to see them live in concert when they come to my neck of the woods in October this year. They just made a new fan out of me.

Reba - Season 2 (2001) Review

Reba - Season 2 (2001)

I have been eagerly anticipating this DVD. I am a fairly recent fan of Reba (since last summer), and unfortunately did not begin watching her television show until midway through the third season. However, I bought the first season when it came out last year, and LOVED IT. I can not even begin to try and give a higher recommendation for anything involving this show. The ensemble cast gives a stellar performance as a dysfunctional family trying to cope with problems such as adultery and teen marriage. Reba takes the stage in this warm family sitcom that takes those issues, and shows viewers how you can handle them, with a lighthearted, funny perspective that is sure to leave you with a warm, satisfied feeling. Whether you are watching Reba herself handle these situations in her life as a "survivor," as the theme song so appropriately states, Barbra Jean and all of her hilarious antics, or any of the other characters, you are sure to enjoy this sitcom. I can't wait for this release in December, and if you are smart, you will indulge yourself in this smart and funny sitcom! YOU WILL NOT REGRET IT!

This is really a great box set. Very well put together and features a lot of my favorite actors and directors. Professor Brown is a great interview with none of the pomp and stuffiness of The Actor's Studio. I know a lot of movie-going fans (and Clooney fans!) who will love getting this for Xmas.

The Sopranos: The Complete Fifth Season (2004) Review

The Sopranos: The Complete Fifth Season (2004)

The death of Carmine, family crime boss of New York, sets up the organizational tug of war that operates through the fifth season. The brutal push and shove between Little Carmine and Johnny Sack provides the dramatic backdrop as tensions mount between the families. Through it all, Tony tries to maintain neutrality but finds himself, as usual, in the thick of things.
On the home front there are several touching and poignant moment between our lovable thug, Tony, and his long-suffering wife, Carmella. Slowly and sweetly, they inch toward each other; each painfully aware of the sensitive issues and the deep divide which separate them. In a grimly amusing scene, Tony may have found Carmella's price.
Without question, this is Gandolfini's finest hour. He gives a performance which portrays not only the ruthlessness and thuggery of Tony Soprano but also the maturity, thoughtfulness, humor and depth of a caring husband father. No humanitarian awards just yet, though, this is brutal gangsterism and intimidation of innocents, after all. Carmella, Christopher, and Adriana also deliver their very best performances to date. Well-deserving of their awards and recognition.
Adriana's episode commentary in bonus features is worth listening to.

His separation hasn't been working out. His nephew's fiance has become a distraction. His paroled cousin is giving off bad vibes. His business rival is looking for payback. His therapist isn't buying into the "other Tony." It's enough to send any mob boss over the edge. Hell hath no fury like The Sopranos.DVD Features:Audio CommentaryOther

The Sopranos: The Complete Second Season (2000) Review

The Sopranos: The Complete Second Season (2000)
Average Reviews:

The Sopranos is one of HBO's greatest achievements (although I admit that I think it lost some of its momentum and spark with seasons three and four). When I first saw the show, I was hooked. I'd watch anywhere from three to four episodes a day. One of the great things about first watching this show on DVD was that I could watch any number of episodes instead of just watching one per week.
"The Sopranos: The Complete Second Season" has to be my favorite season. As much as I love the first one, this was when things were really funny, intense, dramatic and involving. The season doesn't let us down when it comes to Tony having more problems than ever before. Both in his Mafia Family and his immediate family, Tony can never get a break. His wife gives him grief while his kids keep doing things that upset him. And don't get me started on his ill mother and self-centered sister. Life isn't much better in his Mafia Family when the brother of Jackie is released from prison and is giving Tony a hard time both personally and professionally. Not to mention that his long time friend, Big P. comes back from a long hiatus when he was first suspected of turning rat to the Feds. All of this leads to one incredible and unpredictable season that showcases the show like none other.
For me, this was the most entertaining season of them all. I loved the characters, the constantly changing storylines, and the personal and business life of Tony Soprano, which is superbly balanced in this season. There's still the much appreciated humor in these episodes that were found lacking in the next two seasons. It doesn't feel like a soap opera, but a more enhanced look into the Mafia world. There's plenty of action as well as dramatic storylines that will make everybody happy for the most part.
This season comes in a set of four discs, totaling at 13 episodes. The great thing about the show is that it is presented to us in a widescreen format that is enhanced for widescreen TVs. This really makes the show that more effective because you feel like you're actually watching a movie rather than a show on cable. The picture and sound quality is great and really shows. There are some nice little extras, such as featurettes, brief previews and recaps of episodes, web-links and more.
"The Sopranos: The Complete Second Season" is a bundle of laughs, suspense, drama, action and surprises. You're always on your toes and you never know what's coming next. One thing's for sure; this is the most unpredictable season out of the four seasons (the fifth one looks pretty promising thus far). While you'll want to start with the first season if you've never seen the show before, you'll know that you will have something special to look forward to once you get to the second season. In my opinion, this is where Sopranos is flawlessly at its best. -Michael Crane

For Tony Soprano, there's no such thing as business as usual. Balancing the demands of his immediate family - wife Carmel, daughter Meadow and son Anthony Jr. - witht the demands of his other family - Paulie Walnuts, Silvio Dante and Big Pussy Bompensiero - means walking a tightrope no self-respecting mobster should have to walk. With his mother and uncle plotting against him, his older sister Janice wreaking her own special kind of havoc, and the very real threat that one of his closest allies is wired by the F.B.I, Tony needs the support of his psychiatrist Dr. Melfi more than ever.DVD Features:Audio CommentaryBiographiesFeaturetteFilmographiesOtherScene AccessTV Spot
