(More customer reviews)I saw it when it came on cartoonetwork at first before it came on I thought it was going to be like the first one.But I was wrong it was way better than the first one if you ever watch the TV show and liked it then your enjoy this movie.Every thing about the show was just like in the movie Kevin was cool and funny ,Gwen powers was the same wich was cool but Ben did the best job in the movie and his aliens where way better then the first movie.I think they should make another one I just have one more thing to say just give it a chance dont judge a book buy its cover but the cover is cool to thanks.

Acceptable Risk (2001) Review

(More customer reviews)Robin Cook is the prolific author of several medical thrillers, in which medicine goes wrong, and the hero/heroine have to face the dire consequences. In ACCEPTABLE RISK, we are introduced to the story via a 1709 hanging of a woman suspected of being a witch. In fact, twelve of these damsels hung that day. Fast forward to the future and we meet idealistic Dr. Chad Rowe, and his lovely wife, Kelly Rutherford who have just inherited the house of the long dead witch. While renovating the house, Lowe discovers a shimmery mold and takes it to his lab, and finds out it has some unusually powerful capabilities: it intensifies his emotions, and seems to cure brain damage such as in Alzheimers. He secretly starts ingesting the formula he's made from the mold, called Ultra, and starts experiencing some of these effects. Needless to say, things start going wrong, and then he decides to enlist other team members to come up with a viable potion.
Lowe and Rutherford do well in their roles, Rutherford looking like a young Judith Light, and Lowe a young Rob Lowe. (Ha ha). Add Sean Patrick Flannery as friend Bobby, who seems to have been a little loose cannon anyway, and you have the ingredients for medical mayhem.
This is a made for TV movie, but its production values are good and I found it intriguing and entertaining.

The Pilot's Wife (2002) Review

(More customer reviews)This CBS TV movie was filmed in Ireland. It is the second Anita Shreve book to come to the screen. Her "The Weight of Water" which starred Sean Penn was well acted, but was laboriously edited. (My review for that one was called "The Weight of Editing." :) "The Pilot's Wife" fares a bit better overall, although Sean Penn is certainly one of our finest actors.
Christine Lahti who had her Oscar nomination for "Swing Shift" with Goldie Hawn does an incredibly excellent performance here. The variety of levels she hits as grieving wife, compassionate mother, angry widow and driven super-sleuth give us a sterling performance. Campbell Scott, real-life son of George C. Scott & Colleen Dewhurst, gives an excellent subtle performance as the pilot association representative who becomes emotionally involved. John Heard played a character named Jack who was about as devious as Jack Lyons in "Pilot's Wife" in his co-starring role with Goldie Hawn in "Deceived." While his performance here is in flashback and not as chilling, it equals the devious nature of his previous Jack from 1991. Particularly excellent is newcomer Kirsty Mitchell as Murie Boland, the Irish counterpart of Lyons' hidden life. Mitchell gives a brief but excellent portrayal of a woman whose life has been impacted by the violent struggles in Ireland. I haven't seen her previous film credit of "Capone's Boys," but certainly intend to seek it out on the basis of the strength of this performance. Alison Pill from "Pieces of April" with Katie Holmes who plays daughter Mattie turns in a good performance as a teen dealing as much with the struggles of her own adolescent social issues as with her father's untimely death.
The depth for this picture comes amid the backdrop of the Irish troubles. How the lives of the characters weave with the political turmoil of Ireland along with Lahti's performance elevates the picture from the mundane to the magical. The DVD doesn't offer a great deal of extras; but it is nice to appreciate the film as an uninterrupted whole. Enjoy!

Call of the Wild 2: Foxfire (2008) Review

(More customer reviews)This is a very enjoyable continuation of The Call of the Wild dvd with Shane Meier. While not a true telling of the London novel these are both very good enjoyable tales for any dog lover. The biggest drawback is the ending of Foxfire makes you say "that's it? that's the end?". My husband and I were both left wanting to see more of this shortlived Animal Planet tv show. Unfortunately, we have been unable to find any dvds of the program that apparently ran from March of 2000 to June of 2000.

A Killer Upstairs (2005) Review

(More customer reviews)If you're looking for a creepy horror flick about a woman who is terrorized by a killer in her house, like the title and the cover art of this DVD suggest, look elsewhere. This made-for-TV thriller, filmed for the "Lifetime" channel and Canadian cable-TV, is a hybrid of the murder/suspense and "woman-in-jeopardy" genres, and a pretty standard one at that. It's about a woman (Tracy Nelson) whose troubled teenage son is charged with a murder he didn't commit -- he apparently killed the married woman who was having an affair with him -- and since it appears to be such an open-and-shut case, with all evidence pointing squarely at her son, she must investigate the case herself and find the real killer at great risk of her own life.
This is the sort of movie that you might find yourself watching if it comes on the TV and you don't feel like mustering the energy to lift the remote control. It's good enough to hold your interest if you're in the right mood, but nothing worth seeking out or adding to your DVD collection. The actual killer is revealed about halfway through the movie, but if you don't figure out who is really behind the murder the instant this character walks onscreen, well...
