(More customer reviews)For my money, the third season of Stargate Atlantis is the best thus far. All of the seasons have been somewhat hit-and-miss, in terms of episode quality, but I think season three brings a wealth of much-needed character development. We learn more about the mysterious Sheppard in "Phantoms" and the taciturn Ronon Dex in "Sateda," while the episodes "McKay and Mrs. Miller" and "The Tao of Rodney" provide new dimensions to the brilliant and blustery Rodney McKay. McKay's character arc alone -- looking from his original guest appearances years ago on SG-1 to the newest Atlantis offerings -- is staggering, and David Hewlett greatly deserves the praise he's received for his performance. Outside of something like Firefly, I think it's rare to see a show in this genre explore so much of the characters' backstories, and it's gratifying to see it finally happening for SGA.
Teyla is certainly underutilized, and I hope that this season will bring new depths to her character. From what I've heard, there is definitely the opportunity for that to happen.

Tru Calling - The Complete First Season (2003) Review

(More customer reviews)I loved the premise of the show. This woman has the ability to save lives and does everything she can to, to the detriment of her own personal life does so. Eliza Dushku is a great actor and highly underrated. I loved her on Buffy the Vampire Slayer and she continues to prove her talent in Tru Calling. Shawn Reaves is talented and adds not just drama but certain type of comic relief. Jason Priestly, what can I say that hasn't already been said. He's not only extremely talented, but incredibly charming. He's got what they call in Hollywood the "it" quality. Rob Duncan who scores the show does a wonderful job. He did the final episode of Buffy the Vampire Slayer and it what an amazing work of art. He is quite the musical artist. I bought this DVD set without ever having seen any of it on television, trusting that the casting and creative people behind the scene would be enough for me to be assured that I would like it. Not only do I like it, but I love it. My only regret is that they didn't give the show a fair chance. I think at the very least that they should have been permitted to finish out the season. Just when Tru is going to find out about her Dad they end it. I felt cheated. It still had a lot of room for more great story telling and character development. You won't be wasting your money on this set Seasons one and Two.

Season 2 ranks up there and has some priceless moments including the doll episode! I would like to see more bonus features on the CYE discs...maybe outtakes or the ultimate idea...the cast roasting Larry!

Curb Your Enthusiasm: The Complete Fourth Season (2002) Review

(More customer reviews)A lot of people pointed out the quality of "Curb" went downhill in the fourth season. I disagree. The "Producers" storyline with Ben Stiller and then David Schwimmer was just as great as the first three with some hilarious episodes. I read there are no extras in the set. A shame--so much could have been included, and the price is a bit steep considering there were only ten episodes. I got the first couple of seasons for $20,but the show is such a gem I suppose it is worth paying a little more..but it would have been nice to have those extras in there.ala Seinfeld.

Wisegal (2008) Review

(More customer reviews)When I first saw previews for Wisegal I knew that I wanted to see it. It had a great cast and a great storyline. Turns out it was better than what I thought it would be. Alyssa Milano gives a great performance throughout the movie and she really "sells" her character. If you like Lifetime movies OR Alyssa Milano then I think you'll like this movie.
Short Storyline: Patty's (Alyssa Milano) husband dies and she doesn't know how to support her family anymore. She meets a guy who is in the mob which she doesn't know at first. She needs money to support her family so she goes to work for him. Throughout the movie Patty learns more and more about the mob and the guy that she doesn't like until finally she tries to get out. Watch the movie to see if Patty can make it out of the mob...
Again I thought this was an excellent movie and the acting was amazing.
