(More customer reviews)This was a very newsworthy show from WWE as there had been 5 title changes during the night. I did not, however, think this was a great show. I did like it, but only mildly, because the two matches I was looking foreward too (the IC title match and the Ladder match) were both very good. I did not think it was nearly as good or as well-rounded as Backlash and Judgment Day, but it held its own. Personally, I would not purchase this on dvd, but it is worth a rental. Matches are rated out of 5 stars (*****).
1. United States Title Match
Kofi Kingston (c) vs. MVP vs. Matt Hardy vs. William Regal
Fast paced match to start, but it was rather short and felt rushed. There were botched spots aplenty in this one, but they pulled out some nice moves as well. Overall this was fine and the guys worked hard, and the match did it's job by getting the crowd pumped up. **
2. No Holds Barred Intercontinental Title Match
Rey Mysterio (c) vs. Chris Jericho
Another great match from these two. The crowd wasn't particularly into it at first, but by the end they were going insane, which is a tremendous credit to the workers. The pace was superb and they did their usual great moves, and I thought they worked the No Holds Barred stipulation in nicely by letting the fans know it was there but not going overboard with gimmicks (all they used was a steel chair). The finish was also brilliant and allows for this fued to continue. ***3/4
3. Samoan Strap Match
CM Punk vs. Umaga
There was not a lot of heat for this one. The match was OK and nothing more, but I will say the ending was good. Pretty average otherwise, not nearly as good as their match at Judgment Day. *3/4
4. ECW Championship Hardcore Triple Threat Match
Christian (c) vs. Tommy Dreamer vs. Jack Swagger
This was a pretty fun match, and was good for what it was. Fans wanted tables but they got trash cans and kendo sticks, and they used those two weapons for basically the entire match. Personally I thought it went a little long, but that's just me. Fans loved Tommy getting the win, and his celebration afterwards was really great. **1/2
5. Hog Pen Match
"Santina" Marella vs. Vickie Guerrero (w/ Chavo Guerrero)
I knew going in this was going to be bad, but this was SHOCKINGLY bad. They had an absolutely hideous match, one of the worst I've seen in years. Worst of all, with promos and the aftermath included, this probably wasted close to 20 minutes of ppv time. I want to hear someone from WWE try and justify fans paying money for this.- (negative) ***
6. WWE Championship Steel Cage Match
Randy Orton (c) vs. Big Dave Batista
This was the real shocker of the evening, as I did not think even for one second that Dave was going to win this match. Not to mention that he pinned Orton clean as a sheet in the middle of the ring after about 7 minutes of action. However, I do not have a serious issue with the length of the match, because for those 7 minutes it was all solid pro wrestling action instead of a long drawn out brawl. Again, this was too short to really be good, but for what it was I liked it. **1/4
7. Submission Match
John Cena vs. The Big Show
Very boring match. This was basically the exact same boring match they had last month, only there were no pin fall attempts and subsequent near falls. Big Show dominated Cena FOREVER with his slow plodding offense, and I was nearly dozing off. At the end, Cena tangled Show's foot in between the middle and bottom rope, which took care of the "t" in stf, and then he applied a crossface. Problem is, show's foot fell out and he had to pretend it was still there in that bent position. This was not good folks, I pray that this fued is over. 3/4*
8. World Heavyweight Championship Ladder Match
Edge (c) vs. Jeff Hardy
Very good match, but not quite the classic I was expecting. They both worked really hard and tried some innovative moves, some of which were truly horrifying. Unfortunately they didn't have a whole lot of time because of all the other matches on the show, so they may have had to cut some things out. This match didn't blow me away like I thought it would, but like I said it was still very good and I was quite satisfied when it was over. The finish was also great. ***3/4
9. World Heavyweight Championship Match
Jeff Hardy (c) vs. CM Punk
Punk got a major mixed reaction coming out. Basically, Punk hit the GTS, hardy kicked out, place went insane, hardy rolled up Punk and Punk kicked out, place went nuts, then Punk hit another GTS for the pin, and the crowd died. The crowd was super into this untill the very end, and then there really wasn't a big pop for the title change. That being said, this was GREAT for the one minute that it lasted. (NR)
This show was a mixed bag. It was very newsworthy and interesting, because I really don't know where they are going from here. There were two great matches on the show and some fine little matches as well, but the middle of the card really dragged the show to a screeching halt, particularly the Hog Pen disaster and the Submission match. If you really enjoy gimmick matches then I'd consider picking this up, otherwise save your money and rent it for a rainy day. Overall I give this show a moderate thumbs up.

WWE - Lita - It Just Feels Right (2001) Review

(More customer reviews)Lita: It Just Feels Right is a documentry based on the flame haired divas time in the WWE. There is also lots of childhood pictures and personal footage of her home. It is a nice program which covers her rise to fame, highlighting her greatest moments, alliances and title wins. If you are a Lita fan this is definately worth buying. The DVD contains a wealth of good extras, ranging from a huge total of 10 extra matches to some video packages. There is also some amusing home video clips. The boxart is quite attractive, with a picture of Lita surrounded with a pink background. There is an insert card inside telling you all the chapters and extras. I will run through both the chapters and extras:
Main Feature:
Who is Lita? - This chapter has comments on Lita from the Hardy brothers, Trish Stratus, Stephanie McMahon and Jim Ross. It then has some introductory talking from Lita and then the music opening hits.
Big Break - A good chapter, focusing on Litas break into the independant scene. Lita then shows a collection of masks she keeps in her home kitchen. There is some fascinating OMEGA footage, and it then disscusses Litas big break into the WWE, along with her alliance with Essa Rios.
Lita Teams Up - This chapter is all about Litas alliance with the Hardy Boyz. It has several match clips from Fully Loaded and Smackdown, and also feautures the big kiss angle between Lita and Matt Hardy.
Superstar - An intresting chapter which includes Wrestlemania footage of Litas Wrestlemania debut, along with comments from Lita.
vs. Stephanie - This covers Litas feud with Stephanie in mid 2000. It shows most of the match, along with commentery from both Stephanie and Lita. Steph disscusses a injury she almost got, and Lita talks about winning the strap/
Bumpy Road - This has lots of Survivor Series 2000 footage of Lita battling Ivory. This was when Lita got a nasty cut above her eye, but still finished the match. It has some unique footage of Lita talking to her Mum after the match, and footage of Lita and her dog at home.
vs. Trish - A video package of the feud between the two divas, and highlights of the HHH/Trish vs. Rock/Lita Raw tag match. Includes comments from Trish.
vs. Chyna - Short chapter which just reviews Litas match with Chyna at Judgment Day.
Love and Hate - One minute music video covering her feud with Dean Malenko.
Diva-Licious - Lots of Hedonism footage of the divas shoot, with lots of nice swimsuit scenes with Lita. Lita also describes how she came up with the thong sticking out of pants look.
Admirers - Lita talks about her fans, and shows all the scrapbooks and merchandise she has recieved off fans. Look out for a very artistic portrait of Lita.
Bright Future - Final comments from everyone, with Lita describing what she would like to acheive in the future, along with some good in ring footage of Lita.
The main feature lasts around 60 minutes.

Obviously, this is a must have for Lita fans. The main feauture is great and very informative on Litas career. The extras aren't too shabby either, with over 80 minutes of extra footage. It gives a nice insight on Lita, and it is well worth adding this to your DVD library.
Final Rating - Five Stars (*****) Excellent.

WWE - The Ladder Match (2007) Review

(More customer reviews)It's amazing how a simple concept for a match (climb up a ladder & grab the belt) has spawn so many memorable moments in the history of professional wrestling and WWE picked out a wonderful collection of matches here to illistrate how the ladder match has spawn off so many memorable to classic moments in wrestling & was also the catalist for so many versions of this match including TLC, Stairway To Hell in ECW, and King Of The Mountain in TNA.
North American Champion Jake Roberts vs. Big Daddy Ritter (Junkyard Dog) - This was joined in progress and it was using a one sided ladder with the referees holding it steady while the wrestlers climbed up. Nothing special past the historical factor.
Stampede Wrestling '79
Intercontinental Champion Bret Hart vs. Shawn Michaels - Eventhough many remember WrestleMania X to be the first Ladder Match, this was truely the first one. For this match being the first of it's kind in WWE at the time, it's really something to see with how the ladder was used at times along with the "X" factor of Sherri getting involved at times.
July '92
Intercontinental Champion Shawn Michaels vs. Razor Ramon - I'm glad they put this one on here instead of their WrestleMania X one since most people forgot about it. This match was completely different than their previous on in that they didn't use the ladder as a weapon while both men knew each other so well that they were able to avoid each other's signature moves throughout the match. This one won't disappoint and if you want an idea of how comical WWF was back in '95, watch the HBK intro when they have a guy trying to sell you his merchandise at ringside (ala Home Shopping Network).
SummerSlam '95
Intercontinental Champion The Rock vs. Triple H - Eventhough Undertaker/Austin was the main event, this was the match that stole the show. HHH was selling a knee injury that he got earlier in the night while the Rock was just ruthless here with both Chyna & Mark Henry getting involved here. This was the highlight match of both men's career before they would go on to each win the World Title.
SummerSlam '98
Edge & Christian vs. New Brood (Hardy Boyz) - This was the match that put both teams on the map that would eventually plant the seeds for the future series of ladder/TLC matches featuring various members. Since this was the first tag team ladder match, it was non-stop action & never a dull moment.
No Mercy '99
(Hardy Boys: Leap Of Faith, Edge: Decade Of Decadance)
TLC Match: WWE Tag Team Champions Edge & Christian vs. Dudley Boyz vs. Hardy Boyz - The first TLC match and this was the one that topped their WrestleMania match months earlier. Again, this is one of those matches that I can't describe in words that you just have to watch.

(Allied Powers: World's Greatest Tag Teams)
Shannon Moore & Shane Helms vs. Jamie Noble & Evan Karagis vs. Kaz Hayashi & Jimmy Yang - If you only know these guys from their runs in WWE then you don't know what your missing. This match was the match of the night at that PPV as it was the crusierweight division that was saving the WCW product at that time. It wasn't as crazy as the TLC matches in WWE but these guys put on one hell of a performance.
WCW Starrcade '00
Intercontinental Champion Chris Benoit vs. Chris Jericho - They took from brutal bumps & the chairshot delievered when Benoit went though the ropes was "hardcore" to say the least & is a classic in quality.
Royal Rumble '01
TLC Match: WWE Tag Team Champions Dudley Boyz vs. Hardy Boyz vs. Edge & Christian - TLC II followed the same patterns as their pervious matches with the exception this time being the involvement of Lita, Rhyno, and Spike Dudley. This match has the highlight reel of Edge (off the top of the ladder) spearing Jeff Hardy (who was hanging from the belt hooks) all the way to the floor that WWE still uses in some promotional videos today.
WrestleMania X-7
(Hardy Boyz: Leap Of Faith)
TLC Match: WWE Tag Team Champions Chris Jericho & Chris Benoit vs. Dudley Boyz vs. Hardy Boyz vs. Edge & Christian - This match is known as the "forgotten TLC" for various reasons such as Edge not acknowling this match when he kept saying "I never lost a TLC match." Jericho & Benoit pulled off some spots not seen in the previous ones such as a headbutt off the top of a ladder though a table that led to his eventual neck surgery.
"SmackDown" May '01
Intercontinental Champion Christian vs. Edge - With both men having so much experience in a ladder match with each other, this match certainly had it's moments when they went against each other. The ladder here was used as a weapon various times along with making a regular move more impactful. This had it's various moments like Christian getting crotched & later being snapped off the top rope onto the ladder, both falling off the ladder onto the floor, and Edge getting his reciepts on all the acts Christian did to him over the past two months.
No Mercy '01
Intercontinental Champion Eddie Guerrero vs. Rob Van Dam - This match had a style of both of them using the ladder to make their normal moves more high impactful with Eddie heavily dominating while constantly targeting RVD's face. These was very intense and was without a doubt one of the best matches on WWE TV for that year.
"RAW" May '02
(Eddie Guerrero: Cheating Death, Stealing Life)
WWE Undisputed Champion Undertaker vs. Jeff Hardy - The story behind this match was Undertaker just delivering a beating to Jeff Hardy who just refused to quit & give up...to the point where Taker just had to do what he had to do after the match.
"RAW" July '02
TLC Match: World Tag Team Champion Kane vs. Rob Van Dam & Jeff Hardy vs. Bubba & Spike Dudley vs. Chris Jericho & Christian - They advertise Hurricane for this match but he wasn't in it. High spots all over the place along with high impact moves to the point to where Bubba Ray suffered such a concussion that he doesn't remember the match to this day.
"RAW" Oct. '02
(RAW: 10th Anniversary DVD)
Intercontinental Championship Match: Chris Jericho vs. Christian - These two were feuding with each other for months over Trish Stratus but after going through regular matches, handicap matches, and cage matches (where Christian injured his back & was out of action for months) they settled their score in a ladder match for the Intercontinental Championship after Edge had to forfit the title due to injury. This match was more about trying to tell a story throughout the match instead of doing a bunch of "highspots" & turned out to be a great match.
Unforgiven '04
Money In The Bank Ladder Match: Chris Jericho vs. Chris Benoit vs. Shelton Benjamin Kane vs. Edge vs. Christian - I was here LIVE & to quote Joey Styles "OH MY GOD!" The showstealer here though was Shelton Benjamin as he looked like Spiderman with the majority of the moves he was pulling off involving the ladders. As a side note, watch Kane's intro because that was something to see with the ladders on fire.
WrestleMania 21
Rey Mysterio vs. Eddie Guerrero - It was a great ladder match eventhough the storyline got stupid with the whole "Dominic is my son" thing going on (well, it did result in the "I'm Your Papi" shirt so I guess it's not all bad). Lots of interference from Vicki Guerrero & Dominic himself but it didn't ruin the match itself.
SummerSlam '05
Loser Leaves RAW Match: Matt Hardy vs. Edge - The final encounter between these two in this very personal feud against each other and as you expected, this was a fight with weapons like a table also getting involved here while Lita played a big role in this match from beginning to end. This doesn't live up to the previous ladder matches these two have had but it was still good. "RAW" Oct. '05
TLC Match: WWE Champion Edge vs. Ric Flair - At this stage in Flair's career, this was a completely new enviroment for him as this was his very first ladder match with his daughter at ringside. This match was more about "how can Flair take this punishment as his age" than anything else as Edge targeted Flair's head after he suffered the concussion the week before resulting in his entire face being the classic "crimson mask". Flair gave out the much punishment here as well as he recieved it & this was a very impressive performance from Ric Flair in this being his first time doing this type of match.
"RAW" Jan. '06
WWE Champion Edge vs. John Cena - Cena was of course booed out the building due to the fact they were in Edge's hometown but that's when Cena is at his best (remember One Night Stand). Again, both men brought their A game & resulted in a great main event with plenty of highlight moments including the final "F-U" to Edge towards the end.
Unforgiven '06
(John Cena: My Life)
Intercontinental Champion Johnny Nitro vs. Jeff Hardy - This was the match for me that put Nitro on the map as a "superstar of the future" as he was able to hold his own & surpass the previous RAW ladder matches with the ladder match veteran in Jeff Hardy. This was just another match in their great series of matches but look out for the swanton on the ladder by Jeff Hardy.
"RAW" Nov. '06
WWE Tag Team Champions Paul London & Brian Kendrick vs. William Regal & Dave Taylor vs. MNM vs. The Hardys - We all know what the Hardys & MNM can do based on their past so mix that with the daredevil style London & Kendrick adapted along with the fact that Regal & Taylor didn't look out of place with their mat wrestling style as well. And watch out for that SICK spot where Joey Mercury's face gets crushed...Read more›

WWE: Royal Rumble 2009 (2009) Review

The ECW Championship match with former champ Matt Hardy vs. then champion Jack Swagger. It was back and foward and good opener for the PPV and for me it gets a 3.5/5
Now we go to the Women's Championship match with Melina vs. Beth Phoenix, the girls always do a good job with Beth domonated most of the match with Melina coming from behind giving this match a 3.5/5
Now the WWE World Heavyweight Championship Match with John Cena in his 4th championship run vs. his old rival JBL w/ his new "employee" HBK in his corner. Not much to say in this match cause like always John Cena wins until losing the title the next month in the Elimination Chamber. 2/5
Now we move on to the WWE Championship Match with Jeff Hardy in his first run as a World Champion vs. his old TLC "buddy" Edge. Before the match even stared then Smackdown GM Vickie Guerrero makes the match no DQ so her nephew Chavo can get involed in the match for Edge. In the end Matt turned on his own brother so Edge can win his 8th world championship. 4/5
And now the MAIN EVENT the ROYAL RUMBLE MATCH with Rey Mysterio(who lasted a long time in there)and John Morrison staring at #1 and #2. This was an interesting Rumble because Orton kicked Vince McMahon in the head so it was unknown what will happen if he won or not. When Triple H who entered at #7 and Randy Orton #8 they got a huge pop from the fans like always. But to my surprise Rob Van Dam was a guest entrent at #25 and crowd went crazy! But in the end with help of Ted DiBiase and Cody Rhodes, Randy Orton wins the match and will main event The 25th Anniversary of WrestleMania!!! 5/5

WWE WrestleMania 24 (2008) Review

(More customer reviews)This years show did indeed have it's good, and it's bad. Although my hopes weren't too high for this years "Showcase of the Immortals" as the build up wasn't very well done in my oppinion, for a Wrestlemania anyway. Was it a good PPV? Answer: Yes, it was a BRILLIANT PPV! A good Wrestlemania? Well, for the most part, yes. A solid 4.5/5 in my oppinion. Now let's have a look at the matches while staying completely spoiler free.
John "Bradshaw" Layfield VS Finlay (w/Hornswoggle) in a Belfast Brawl
-It seemed suitable to open the show with this match as I always had fears the fans interest would wan during it. JBL is quite boring in the ring, and while I love Finlay as a wrestler, he isn't completely "over" yet. So I feared this match would be met with silence. Opening the show prevented that as it meant everything was freash for the fans. Unfortunately the match sucked. After the most build up out of any match (It dated all the way back to last year and the whole "Who is Vince's son?" angle), the most emotional storyline... we got, well we got nothing really. The "brawl" was nothing. Finlay's emotion leading up to WM was wasted. The match completely failed it's purpose.
CM Punk VS Shelton Benjamin VS Chris Jericho VS Carlito VS Montel Vontavious Porter VS Mr. Kennedy VS John Morrison in a Money in the Bank ladder match
-Good bump showcase. Not as good a match as previous years, but some awesome bumps. Seemed a bit unorganized though. Still, the winner truly deserved it, even if he was underused in the match. Shelton takes a bloody killer bump. I shared the same expression Carlito wears when it happened.

Umaga VS Batista
-This match didn't stand out at all. I don't think it was expected to though. Easily could've been done on a usual PPV or RAW/SD. Not WM worthy.
Kane VS Chavo Guerrero to win the ECW Championship
-Really, there was no one else that would've won this. And it's revealed early in the night so I don't consider it a spoiler. Kinda odd they didn't show the hyped on TV battle royal, but then again, WWE doesn't make sense often. Quick match, pretty pointless.
Ric Flair VS HBK in a career threatening match
-What an emotional match. Longtime wrestling fans are sure to be overcome with emotional during this match. A fantastic story is told in the ring, backed up solid ringwork. Besides the Money in the bank, this is the only other match so far that has had that unique WM feel.Beth Phoenix and Melina VS Maria and Ashley in a Playboy BunnyMania Lumberjill match
Lumberjills: Cherry, Eve Torres, Michelle McCool, Victoria, Mickie James, Jillian Hall, Katie Lea Burchill, Kelly Kelly, Layla and Maryse.
-I took a toilet break at the start of the match as I knew this match would be crap. A boring match made worse by a mishap during the match. Only worth watching for Snoop Dogg's entertainment. He's one cool cat.
HHH VS Randy Orton VS John Cena in a Triple Threat match to retain the WWE Championship
-The match was, alright. Didn't really tickle my fancy but I can see some people really enjoying it. Just fast forward John Cena's entrance... it's some goofy marching band entrance. Ergh! The end is quite unexpected and was well done.
Floyd Mayweather, Jr. VS The Big Show in a No Disqualification match
-This match was way better than I expected. Slow, but it had a big feeling to it. Which I found impressive, that they gained that bigtime feeling. A real shocking ending. Pure wrestling fans will despise it, but it's more entertaining than expected.
The Undertaker VS Edge to win the World Heavyweight Championship
-THIS is what Wrestlemania is about! What a main event! It had the big feeling to it and truly gave off the feeling anything can happen. The false finishes, reversals, everything was done beautifully. This match saved the show from being a 3 star Mania, to making it a 4-4.5 star mania!
As for the promo's and backstage segments... they were alright. Some entertaining ones. They all pretty much added to the WM feeling.
...Also, it looked SPECTACULAR in High-Def!!!
If possiable it should be watched in HD!
Every current wrestling fan should watch this, to see what the Mania "feeling" is. Because by the main event, the show is oozing that bigtime feel. Past fans... watch it for the classic Flair/HBK match and Edge/Taker match (Both 4- 4.5 star matches in my oppinion). Plus you get several good 3- 4 star matches. Skip the belfast brawl (which could've been good, considering the 2 wrestlers are excellent brawlers) and the Diva match.
The DVD/Blu-ray should also come with the Hall of Fame ceremony which makes this a worthy buy as we see the end of an era.
4- 4.5/5 Stars.

(More customer reviews)The reason this dvd about the new DX of the wwe is a hit and miss is that if you are a big fan of wrestling as I am, you already own EVERYTHING on this dvd! The new DX focusses only on the reuniting of HHH and HBK last year and each and every clip they did in their fueds with the Spirit Squad, the McMahons, and Rated RKO. Sure some moments are really funny and the matches they chose are pretty much entertaining to see, do not buy this if you are a long time fan or have collected the monthly ppvs on dvd like I have for the past year beause you are pretty much spending money to get the same footage all over again. Money in the bank-Christian vs. Finlay vs. CM Punk vs. Mark Henry vs. Shelton Benjamin vs. Kane vs. MVP vs. Kofi Kingston
This match is great and very fast paced. I didn't think that it was worthy of being the opener. Great spots in this match like Benjamin doing a dive off the ladder on to everyone, kofi getting world strongest slammed on a ladder, hornswoggle doing the tad pole splash on everyone, christian saving himself and the ladder, and a huge cokeslam off the ladder. The wrong man won though later cashing in his money in the bank and screwing Jeff Hardy. This match also includes a lot of highflying moments and ladder use.

Chris Jericho vs. Jimmy Snuka, Rowdy Roddy Piper, Ricky Steamboat
This match is pretty good. It could have been better, but still good. I didn't like the stipulation to this match(elimination) Not very good with jericho winning. But great moment when jericho got punched by Mickey Rourke.

Jeff hardy vs. Matt Hardy-Extreme rules
Great match here. A good use of weapons in this mach like a, trash can, vacuum cleaner, tables, chairs, ladders, creches, Kendo sticks, and a wm 25 poster. What a moment when Jeff missed a leg drop off a 16 ft, also, if you look closely, you can see Jeff go through the ring some. Also, awesome moment when Jeff dived off the top rope and made Matt go through tables. A very sick ending.

JBL vs. Rey Mysterio-Intercontinental Championship
This match is a total waste and is just a filler. This match is only 21 seconds, and was dominated by JBL before the match was even started, and mysterio finally wins the intercontinental title. Great moment when JBLOSER quit. FINALLY!!!!! No more blubber.

Undertaker vs. Shawn Michaels
I hope you can say the word classic because that is what this match is. This match is fast paced through the entire match and is never boring, and was like all their other matches, really good, except this was a classic. This match totally deserved to be the main event, but sadly wasn't. This match is defanatly match of the night and match of the year. I really liked the buildup for this and that these two had a very good rivalry going. Great moments when Shawn missed the moonsaulet, and when undertaker dived on a camera man. I loved that the streak continues to 17-0. Awesome moment when taker kicked out of the sweet chin music and michaels kicked out of the tombstone. Best moment in the match when taker countered the moonsaulet into the tombstone for the win. This match is very entertaining and is one of the best WWE and Wrestlemania matches ever. It is also the second longest Mania' match ever.

John Cena vs. Edge vs. Big Show-World Heavyweight Championship
Good match, but a little short for a triple threat, but still good. This match was surprisingly brutal with Cena pulling off the win with a attitude adjustment on big slow and edge. Also, great moment in the match when edge made big slow go through the barricade. Also, who can forget the super human effort by cena when he picked up slow and edge on his shoulders. Good triple threat here.

Triple H vs. Randy Orton-WWE Championship
I don't have much to say about this match it is so stupid. This match is almost watchable, but not very good. This is more like a brawl than a match and didn't deserve to be the main event. I like how hhh kicked orton in the skull and hit him with the sledge hammer when the ref was down and got the pedigree for the win to retain. The only good thing about this match was the orton goes too far and eliminates the McMahon factor buildup.

(More customer reviews)I give this ppv a solid A. The crowd was into it the whole night which always makes it better and the matches were awesome. Best thing about this ppv...it was hard too predict with how the matches turned out.
The first chamber match was the better one in my opinion. Undertaker, HHH and Jeff Hardy put on awesome performances. Kozlov was okay and big show was pretty good. Edge...well he was eliminated in like 4 mins which i don't think any one saw coming because it has always come down to the champ and someone else. Great spots though, great back n fourth wrestling, and it coming down to HHH and Undertaker made the match that much better. Actual match lasted like 37 mins as well. 10/10 2nd best chamber match of all time
Orton vs. Shane was a very brutal match-up. They slowly beat the living h*ll out of each other and there were plenty of spots. Orton's cut was just nasty and it played to his sick character really well. Shane going from the coast to coast to the flying elbow drop was just awesome. I have never seen anyone go from a big spot to another with in about 30 seconds. Great Match with no disappointment's...except Orton winning. 10/10
Swagger vs. Finlay was decent. Some good old school wrestling but the problem was...this match followed a chamber match and a no holds barred match that both lived up to the hype soooo this match in some ways was boring. Should of been first or 2nd or mayb just not on the card. 6.5/10
JBL vs. HBK was put together very well. There is a couple times when it seemed like HBK might just lose. HBK's wife being ringside though sitting there crying really made the match that much better. The sweet chin music that HBK hits JBL with was justas beautiful as always. Good match, very entertaining and HBK wins. 8/10
There's a lot to say about this match, first of all Edge takes Kingston's place after beating him down, Mysterio surprisingly eliminates Kane, then Y2J eliminates Knox, then here comes edge who puts on a good show with Mysterio and Y2J and then good old 8 to 9 move Cena comes in, beats the h*ll out of edge and then right when he was going to hit the F-U, Y2J hits the codebreaker which leads to the 619 and then a spear and then...guess what, Cena is gone. So guaranteed new champ. Mysterio eliminates Y2J after rolling out of the Walls of Jericho and then this is when it gets very exciting. Mysterio in my mind was MVP of last night with all his spots he pulled off. He came so close to winning on about 4 pinfalls but once he ran to Edge and was thrown into the bulletproof glass...that is when it was all said and done. Edge the n hits the spear and the guy who lost title then won another.
Overall this was a great ppv and the road to Wrestlemania is so fat very good. Be interesting to see what the two title matches are now that Edge and HHH are the guys to beat!

(More customer reviews)Thank god I didn't pay for this PPV. I really don't know what else to say, but I sincerely hope you take my word for it and refuse to spend your hard earned money on this DVD. I feel bad enough for everyone in the crowd and everyone else who paid to see this on PPV. Hell, I didn't pay for it and I feel bad for myself just for watching it! I almost don't even want to review this garbage but let's get on with it. Matches are rated out of 5 stars (*****).
1. Traditional Survivor Series Match
Team HBK (HBK, Mysterio, Cryme Tyme, & Khali)
VS.
Team JBL (JBL, Kane, Miz and Morrison, & MVP)
Pretty solid opener. Crowd was into this match. Very predictable ending and I felt like this could have been a lot better. I figured for sure Michaels and Morrison would be the last two going at it for their respective teams, which could have been really good, but it didn't turn out that way. Still a pretty good match, but relatively uneventful. **1/2
2. Traditional Survivor Series Match
Team Raw (Beth Phoenix, Mickie James, Kelly Kelly, Candice, & Jillian Hall)
vs.
Team SmackDown! (Michelle McCool, Natayla, Maryse, Maria, & Victoria)
Botchfest of a match, truly terrible. There were some moments of decent action but they didn't last very long at all. 1/2*
3. Casket Match
Big Show vs. Undertaker
This was an awful match. I haven't seen a match with this little energy/charisma in a long while (well probably not that long considering the current state of the product but you get the idea). There was a nice table spot, and that's the only thing keeping this from being a DUD, it is that bad. I thought this would be pretty good, as I enjoyed their previous two encounters, but this was atrocious. 1/2*
4. Traditional Survivor Series Match
Team Batista (Batista, CM Punk, Kofi Kingston, Matt Hardy, & R-Truth)
vs.
Team Orton (Orton, Cody Rhodes, Shelton Benjamin, Regal, & Mark Henry)
Good match, match of the night. I quite enjoyed this one. There were some slow parts but for the most part there was good action all around. I loved the finish and it was nice to see Orton and Rhodes the survivors. ***1/4
5. WWE Championship
Triple H (c) vs. Kozlov (vs. Edge vs. Jeff Hardy? I guess)
Oh my holy good lord this was absolutely shockingly poor. I can safely say this was the worst match I have seen all year. The crowd rightfully defecated all over this one, and when they got tired of chanting "boring, we want hardy, and TNA," they just stopped making any noise whatsoever (can we blame them?). I wouldn't be surprised if Kozlov is dropped from the storyline completely after this one, he may have killed his career. After 12 minutes of wrestling so bad you'd have to see it to believe it, Vickie comes out and says "he's back," of course alluding to Edge, who comes out, soon to be followed by Jeff Hardy. Edge goes on to win the title in what has to be considered one of the worst WWE Championship matches in history. Don't get me wrong, I love Edge as champ, but this was a disgraceful match that makes me want to vomit just thinking about it. This gets my first ever minus rating. - **
6. World Heavyweight Championship
Chris Jericho (c) vs. John Cena
Solid match, nothing even remotely close to their match at SummerSlam 2005 or their loser leaves Raw match the following night. Very slow, lots of rest holds, but the action picked up a bit by the end. Not a bad match, but not at all what you'd expect as a fan. Cena was obviously lacking and barely did anything in this match, and I give Jericho all the credit in the world for making this match decent. Had edge not won the title the match before, I would have never watched WWE again after the finish to this match, it made me that angry. This was as predictable a match as you can get: Cena got beat, he got beat, he got beat, he got beat, he got beat, he got beat, he got beat, he got beat, 5 moves of doom, match over. The announcers, by the way, didn't even seem to care when he won. Seriously, I am not kidding. On a side note the announcing for the show as a whole was of a caliber so uninspiring and uninteresting I felt like I was watching Barney and Friends. Anyway, ok match, ending made me sick. As Michael Cole said, "the champ is back." Just what we all wanted (or at least what those morons in WWE creative thought we all wanted). **3/4
This show was absolutely terrible, and I never ever want to see it EVER again. The only show from WWE in the past 4 years that has been worse than this is WWE Royal Rumble 2006. It seems as though WWE tried making up for this disgrace of a wrestling show by making it newsworthy and relevant with the two title changes, but we weren't fooled. Take my word for it, avoid this show like you would a deadly disease. If you watch it you may never be able to enjoy WWE again. I know as a lifelong fan I feel like I've been punched in the stomach.

WWE: Backlash 2009 (2009) Review

Christian Vs. Jack Swagger - This was a solid back and forth match. Christian and Swagger makes a good pair in the ring and if Swagger was trying to prove something here that he can perform on a big stage well, he certainly did that. Lots of near falls with the crowd getting into it. Solid opening contest and a great match to start the show. 4/5
This segment of the show I recommend checking out. After the opening match, Christian runs into Edge backstage. Edge and Christian has words with each other which may lead to something in the future between them.
Chris Jericho Vs. Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat - Another great back and forth match. This is the match we should've got at WrestleMania. Yes, Steamboat is up there in age so some of his moves were off but he performed a solid wrestling match with Chris Jericho. Again, the crowd was into it and they were behind Steamboat all the way. This match has some nice counters but in the end it was Chris Jericho with his Walls Of Jericho making Steamboat tap out. 3.5/5
C.M. Punk Vs. Kane - This wasn't a bad match either. Kane and C.M. Punk previously fought on Raw but this match was much better. A couple minutes into the match Kane starts to target the mid-section of C.M. Punk. Kane and Punk put on a good effort and they delivered a well paced match. After a series of consecutive kicks and punches from Punk, Kane counters with a big chokeslam on Punk for the win. Without question, Kane derseved this win. 3.5/5
"I Quit" Match
Matt Hardy Vs. Jeff Hardy - This was a good match. Possibably better then their match from WrestleMania because the psychology in this match was better played out. Not as brutal and violent as previous "I Quit" Matches but this was still a good match. Matt morely targets the leg of Jeff and at one point applying a figure four leg lock. Jeff put on a good performance and at one point delivering a Twist Of Fate to Matt on the floor. The ending was a bit too cheap but that doesn't take away from the good performance Matt and Jeff put on. 4/5
The Great Khali Kiss Cam - This was absolutely a big waste of PPV air time. Santino isn't entertaining and his persona as "Santina" is just ugly and horrendous. Just stupid. BATHROOM BREAK!
WWE Championship
Triple H, Batista, & Shane McMahon Vs. Randy Orton, Ted DiBiase, & Cody Rhodes - This was also a good match. Early in the match, HHH chases Orton up the ramp and Orton disappears for a little while leaving Rhodes and DiBiase by theirselves. However, Orton returns and from there the match picked up and became a fairly good and enjoyable match. I will not say this match is better then HHH's and Orton's WWE Title Match from WrestleMania but this match surely didn't disappoint. The suspense factor was there if HHH, Batista, and Shane were all on the same page. The finish was great and it was a good move to give Orton the WWE Title (something WWE should've done at WrestleMania). A very entertaining and good match. 4.25/5
Last Man Standing Match for the World Heavyweight Championship
Edge Vs. John Cena - Tremendous match and by far the best match of the night. This match could have ended so many times. All the 10 counts were extremely close. I give props to John Cena in this match. He isn't the best wrestler but when the rule book is thrown out, he certainly knows how to put on a grade A match and he did that here. The match was built very well that holds a lot of finishers and escapes (some we haven't seen before) that includes some new innovative spots. Edge and Cena both has fantastic showings. They both produced a great and exciting World Title Match. The ending was great to set up the BigShow/Cena feud and to give Smackdown a new World Champion in Edge. Outside of their TLC Match from Unforgiven, this was the best Cena/Edge match. Match of the night. 5/5
Overall, this was a great Backlash event and is surpassed WrestleMania 25. Edge and Cena gave a great performance and their match stole the show. I recommend this event. A very good follow up to WrestleMania.

WWE - Armageddon 2007 (2007) Review

MVP vs. Rey Mysterio
This was one of my favorite matches of the night. Lots of highflying wrestling in this one and some good moves. Some false finishes and near falls make this one pretty exciting. One cool moment in this match is where rey pulled off a super hurricarana. While this match had lots of potenital, the ending ruined it where mvp got counted out because he couldn't beat rey. Once again, while a good opening bout, the ending just wasn't for me. Match Rating:4/5
CM Punk and Kane vs. Mark Henry and Big Daddy V
Overall, i wasn't really looking forward to this matchup, but this actually wasn't half bad. Big daddy v started out just pounding and dominating punk. Kane got the team back into the match for a while, but eventually v and henry picked up the victory. Match Rating:3/5
Shawn Michaels vs. Mr. Kennedy
Match of the night right here. A lot of physicality and intense wrestling in this one. They both did a really nice job selling and focusing on their injures as hbk stomped and pounded on kennedy's hand and kennedy working on the bad back of hbk. Some good grapple moves and takedowns in this one as well. Kennedy used submissions to wear down michaels and every chance hbk could get, he pulled kennady's hand back and used some classic wrestling moves. A couple of good physical encounters on the outside and in the end, hbk got a sweet chin music from out of nowhere on kennedy. Match Rating:5/5
#1 Contenders Match for a WWE Championship shot at the Royal Rumble
Triple H vs. Jeff Hardy
These two had better matches in '08 like no mercy, but this left an impression for those future matches. Triple h was pushing and bullying around hardy in the opening moments, but hardy finnaly took advantage and gained some momentum after a hhh slap. Lots of back and forth action and some exciting, nice offense. These two tried everything to beat each other and when we all least expect it, hardy wins with a rollup out of the blue. Triple h was left shocked in the ring as hardy started climbing the ladder to main event success. Match Rating:4.5/5
Finlay vs. Great Khali
Finlay started his face run right about here. Overall, this was nothing special. Some comedy highlights with hornswaggle's interference on khali which led to the fighting irishman finlay defeating the giant khail. Match Rating:2.5/5
WWE Championship
Randy Orton vs. Chris Jericho
This was the second coming of Y2J as he showed no ring rust in his first ppv match since summerslam 2005. Jericho and orton brought some good offense to the table as we see classic jericho, pulling of the walls of jericho and connecting with the lionsault. The ending was really suprising, when jbl interfered and costed jericho the match while he had the walls locked in on the legend killer. Overall the match was good, the ending was suprising, but it left me wanting more. Match Rating:4/5
Women's Championship
Beth Phoenix vs. Mickie James
Before the match, jillian came in and unfortunetly started to sing. Besides that, the match was decent as mickie fought hard against beth, but fell short. Match Rating:2.75/5
Triple Threat Match for the World Heavyweight Championship
Batista vs. Edge vs. Undertaker
I really enjoyed the taker/batista fued of '07 and with edge added to the mix, the rivalry got more interesting. Numerous highlights of this match include, edge cowering from taker and batista in the opening moments, undertaker and batista tearing each other apart to get to the rated r superstar, edge taking advantage off of every move, and the debut of hawkins and ryder to provide the distraction. In the end, undertaker tombstoned batista and edge capitalized off of it by spearing taker and pinning batista to take home the world title once more. The triple threat match proved that the rated r superstar was the true ultimate oppertunist. Match Rating:4/5
Overall, i recommend this dvd because it is one of the better ppvs from 2007. A spectacular hbk/mr. kennady match, a physical hhh/hardy match and two good world title matches.
