(More customer reviews)I was introduced to this dvd courtesy of Youtube and a 2-minute clip of Arie Spears. I immediately placed my order for a copy of this comedy show and can't say enough about it. Cedric the Entertainer is brilliant .... Arie Spears is a star who needs to continue to rise because his combination of comedy/improv/impersonation is 100% on point .... and DeRay Davis is a force to be wreckoned with in the comedy world. I was surprised that Tommy Davidson wasn't as funny as he has been in his previous standup concerts...but he warmed up the crowd. Kevin Hart is hysterical. This dvd is well worth every penny (and then some); it's something that for me will never get old!

Cedric the Entertainer Presents - The Complete Series (2002) Review

(More customer reviews)that this came out on DVD, and it isn't even my birthday! Seriously, this show was a complete stitch, and it truly deserved to run for at *least* a couple of seasons. Cedric assembled a rather talented cast, with himself as the rock-solid comedic anchor. There are so few truly funny shows out there, so when this one hit the airwaves, it was the highlight of my TV viewing week. When FOX cancelled this show before it even went a full season, I was seriously dejected, and moreso baffled.
In a way, the show reminded me of the old Flip Wilson Show, with Flip coming out and chatting up the audience, then moving into short comedic skits that were well crafted and thrived off the main star's true talent for making people laugh, not through crudeness or insult, but with good clean fun.
If you like the humor of Jamie Kennedy, Drew Carey, King of Queens, Simpsons, Family Guy or the like, odds are you'll enjoy Cedric's show.

(More customer reviews)This DVD is definitely a must have for all dvd collectors. As Mos Def stated in a few of the shows, these artists get up there and say things you may already be thinking. They will have you laughing at times, and will have you reflecting on the state of our society at others. As they show clips of the audience, you find every skin tone and age up in there and its a beautiful thing to see them all laughing together and even shedding tears together...It's deep..
Based on my experience from Def Comedy Jam, I was expecting all of the artists to be African American, but Russell mixed it up with Caucasians, Asians and Arabs which was HOT...We never really know how different people look at the world and this gives you a glimpse into what each person sees and what they've been through.
DEFinitely a classic!!
