(More customer reviews)Wow... having been in the construction business much of my life, watching this video of the planning, construction, and politics behind the building of the Hoover Dam was an incredible experience. For those of you that live in the South West USA, this is a must-see.
Once you see the work and energy that went into the construction of Hoover Dam, you will get a new feeling when you turn on your water faucet and wall switch.
Amazing highlights of thhe video was an interview with a former truck driver on the project who said he was earning $5.oo a DAY [Yes Five Dollars a DAY] while working on the Dam. The Dam started out named the Boulder Dam, then changed the name to Hoover Dam (after then President Herbert Hoover) then back to Boulder Dam, and finally around 1947 by Congress switched to "Hoover Dam."
All incredible video footage right there along with the construction workers will draw you into the sweat and toil they went through.
For those of you now living in Las Vegas and Boulder City, NV you will enjoy the footage of the 1930's films of your area.
A well done documentary to say the least of a mammoth project, and a successful completion that changed the lives of so many in South West USA. 5 Stars +
