(More customer reviews)I am not an advocate follower of the show since I live in a rural area. Nor do I take time to comment on series. But happen to catch the show on a marathon over the holidays. I was so intrigued with the way the series built the characters and interactions with a comic superhero I followed when I was younger that I bought the 5 season disc set. The main characters Clark Kent (Tom Welling), Lana Lang (Kristin Kreuk), and Lex Luthor (Michael Rosenbaum) are outstanding in their performance of portraying these characters. Even the additions of supporting characters not know in the DC universe, yet, such as Chloe Sullivan (Allison Mack). The emotions these actors portray are beyond what I have seen so far in a series based upon a comic book. The chemistry they create especially in love relationships are felt thru out the series. The writing and new approach of presenting a timed honored character is hard to describe other than a slam dunk on reaching all ages. And as stated below, I'll be anxiously awaiting to buy every series. Hopefully there will be many many more.

Before the Legend...Before the Icon...He was a teenager growing up in Smallville. Season 1 chronicles the life of the boy who would be Superman in a 6-disc collector's set with super bonus features. Season 2 includes all 23 second-season episodes plus bonus materials worthy of a hero. Among the episode highlights: Clark grapples with his true calling. Is he on Earth to serve humanity or perhaps destroy it? Season 3 is marked by Clark's inability to overpower destiny and its pressing call for his return home. Clark, who has left Smallville for Metropolis, returns to Smallville to help his parents, and is happily surprised to find that Lex Luthor has survived a deadly jet crash. Season 4 is Clark Kent's senior year! The 22 episodes include the quest for 3 Kryptonian crystals and Clark's bold attempt to keep those mysterious stones from destroying Earth. Lois Lane smart, opinionated and entirely annoying to Clark comes to Smallville. Season 5 - An astonishing season of destiny! "We call this season Superman in Training," series co-creator Alfred Gough says. "Clark is going to accept his destiny." During this exciting pivotal season: The Fortress of Solitude rises. A spaceship mystery unfolds. A dark tragedy - one even Clark's powers can't prevent - strikes.
