It was a little confusing in relating this series to the other parts of the story because in the other parts (Lonesome Dove the movie and Commanche Moon) The characters are played by different persons. All in All, I highly recommend "the series" and found it necessary to buy all of the entire set.

(More customer reviews)I would like to know if the other 4 vol. are going to be released soon. I have this in the box set and would like to have all volumes individually for my den collection. This is the best western movie ever make. I think LONESOME DOVE: THE SERIES is better than THE OUTLAW YEARS but both are worth having in your collection.Starting with DEAD MAN`S WALK thru THE OUTLAW YEARS is great entertainment.
