(More customer reviews)The Return to Cutter Gap is a wonderful return from the old series. Where the original Christy series left us dieing to know what Christy's choice for husband would be, this new movie is a beginning of the end where we will finally see this Christian heroine choose the love of her heart. Shot in the beautiful mountains outside of Vancuver, B.C., the scenery is once again breathing taking. Some people will of course be dissapointed that Kellie Martin is not returning to her role of Christy, but Lauren Lee Smith (Dark Angel) does a fine job in the role. Stewart Finnley McLennan returns to play Neil McNeil, one of the love interests in Christy's life and James Waterston potrays the Boston preacher who also has his eyes on Christy. Award Nominee Diane Lad stars as Miss Alice and there are several of the actors from the orginal series that return to play their old parts.The story begins with an aged Christy returning to her old haunts in Cutter Gap bringing her daughter Catherine with her. The story is told to Catherine through the eyes of her mother who had a great deal of exciting, romantic, adventurous, and sad stories to relate. The first story revolves around several different occurences - the crash of a gorgeous female aviator in Cutter Gap, the building of a new road to El Pano, the dissaperance of many of the cove people's belongings, and Christy's encouragement of one of her pupils' desire to go to colledge. Christy - A Change of Seasons (2001) Review

(More customer reviews)Christy: A Change of Seasons is just a wonderful movie for both children and parents. I just love the whole Christy series, movie and mini-series. The story was aired on PAX tv in a two part series starring Lauren Lee Smith as Christy Huddleston. The story starts out on a wonderful night in Cutter Gap. All the residents in Cutter Gap gather to the Mission House to watch a movie which Christy (Smith) borrowed for Miss Alice Henderson's birthday. But as the story moves on not everything is so peaceful and happy. A few days later, after Doctor Neil MacNeill (played by Stewart Finley McLannen from the orginal series) exames some residents, he discovers that typhoid has come to the good people of Cutter Gap. Almost everyone becomes ill, encluding David Grantland, (played by James Waterston, son of actor Sam Waterston)the young mission preacher. Christy is devistated by the death of her dear friend Fairlight Spencer (played by Ingrid Torrance) and begins to question her belief in God. Christy throws herself into help Dr. MacNeill care for the ill and tries not to think about her loss. But David offers her hope and his heart to her. So she accepts his proposal. Miss Alice also tries to help Christy through her troubles, but she is also battling problems of her own. Dr. MacNeill soon finds out about Christy's choice to marry David and decides to leave the Cove, rather then see the woman he loves marry another. The Twilight Zone - The Complete Series (Season One) (2002) Review

(More customer reviews)Be warned. This is the 2002 version of The Twilight Zone and is the third and least effective version of the show.
It is hosted by actor Forrest Whittaker,who for some unexplained reason walks around while introducing episodes. The clueless producers thought that this would be an effective way of introducing the episodes,it wasn't.A voiceover would have been better as the 1985 version used.
There is one particularly offensive episode on racism where a white man is portrayed as a racist because,while in the middle of the city in the darkness of night,he wouldn't let a black stranger into his car after the stranger banged on his window and yelled "let me in".
How many people would let any stranger into their car in the middle of the city at night,especially when the stranger is banging on the window and yelling at them?
That just shows how badly written and produced this series was. The complete unfairness of this premise somehow escaped the producers.
There are also many other episodes that meander on with weak stories and lame resolutions. So disorganised was the production of this show that they had to copy no less that three stories from the original Rod Serling version in just this one season.
The three versions of The Twilight Zone comprise-
1st version-The original Emmy award winning version hosted by writer Rod Serling that premiered in 1959 and ran for five seasons.
2nd version-The eccellent and under-rated 1985-87 version which had a third season padded on after it's cancellation to get enough episodes for syndication.This version had scripts by some of science fiction's best writers.
3rd version-This DVD set,which is the disappointing 2002 version that was cancelled after only one season.
I personally am going to wait for the 1985 version as it is much better than this 2002 Twilight Zone,which has some very poorly written episodes.
The publicity blurb of this 2002 version sums it up-"with today's hippest young stars"-the Twilight Zone is not supposed to be MTV. In fact,the Twilight Zones sites that cover the original version have boycotted it because they consider that it is not true Twilight Zone.
One of this series producers is Pen Densham,the appalling producer that was responsible for turning the new 1990's version of The Outer Limits into a soft-core porn show. Clearly,this man has no idea of what makes true science fiction.
All in all,this is a very disappointing version of the series and is very badly produced.Avoid it.

Another Cinderella Story (2008) Review

(More customer reviews)Usually sequals do not turn out so good (this is not really a sequal) but it was enjoyable to watch... Even though this is completely different than the Cinderella Story with Hilary Duff, it has a similar plot and everything; however I actually liked it better than the "Cinderella Story". It had the masked ball as well but it goes well with the following events and Mary's preparation to go in the path of dancing. This is supposed to be a musical version of the "a Cinderella Story".
Mary (Selena Gomez) works for Dominique, her step mother, and her two step-sisters. She bumps into Joey Parker [the guy she has had a crush on since maybe 11 years old ] several times and dance at the school masked ball. She heads home early so that Dominique will not find out and Joey Parker who is a dancer/singer looks for her.
Mary loves and practices dancing on her own time and basically dancing is what brings Mary and Joey together.
I recommend this movie which is good all the way (music and acting).
