Here comes a bit a plot-spoiler, so please be advised:
The story is that 20 years before, Rosalinda's mother, Soledad, is imprisoned for a crime she did not commit, the murder of José Fernando Altamirano. In jail, she gives her daughter over to her sister and asks that she never tells anyone. So Rosalinda grows up not knowing that her mother is in reality her aunt. Rosalinda has two sisters (cousins), Fedra and Lucy, and a brother (Cousin) Beto.
Rosalinda works in a flower shop. One day she is delivering flowers to a restaurant where she meets Fernando José ---- the son of the guy her mother is in prison for murdering!
Rosalinda's mother (aunt) dies and her real mother comes out of prison. She poses as aunt Marta. That is when the problems begin.
The villain of the story is Valeria, Fernando José's stepmother, who will tell him that Marta is actually Soledad. So Fernando José leaves Rosalinda and Valeria steals Rosalinda's baby, and Rosalinda goes crazy.... She is sent to a hospital, that later burns down. Everyone believes her dead, but instead she is now living as Paloma Dorantes, who becomes a singer.
Well, as you see the plot is all you can expect of a telenovela.
The acting by Fernando Carrillo (Fernando José) is terrible, but Thalia isn't that bad in this one. Nora Salinas is convincing as Fedra, Rosalinda's cousin and a villain of the story.
I also noticed there is no singing at all, even though Rosalinda becomes a singer. And the song "Ay Amor!" (Rosalinda)
is missing all together. The additional material is nothing almost, just a short video in which Thalia lip-synchs the song and a "Best Kisses" special (which I didn't watch).
All together, I give it three stars. If you like telenovelas in DVD, Rosalinda is an okay one.
It is 550 minutes long and it has an English subtitle option.
Rosalinda comes in two DVDs, both two-sided and is divided into 16 chapters.

Thalia ("Marimar", "Maria Mercedes", "Maria la del Barrio") stars as Rosalinda, a decent, beautiful young woman who works in a flower shop to pay for her education while aspiring to become a great singer. One day, while delivering flowers to a restaurant, she meets Fernando Jose Altamirano, a pianist and composer. Rosalinda instantly falls in love with Fernando Jose and tells him of her dream of becoming a singer. Though they are soon wed, circumstances force them apart. Maybe it’s because Rosalinda discovers that her birth mother, long believed to be dead is actually serving a prison sentence-for the murder of Francisco Jose’s father! The film also stars Fernando Carrillo ("Maria Isabel", "Primavera"), Angelica Maria ("La Antorcha Encendida"), Manuel Saval ("¡Vivan los ninos!") and Lupita Ferrer ("Soledad").
